$PIRATE Token Launched, Listed on Major Exchanges

Proof of Play has launched the $PIRATE token, listed on several exchanges including Coinbase, Gate.io, ByBit, BitGet, and Coins.ph.

Proof of Play, the company behind the popular on-chain pirate game Pirate Nation, has announced the launch of the game’s native token, $PIRATE.

The ERC-20 token is now listed on several major cryptocurrency exchanges, including Coinbase, Gate.io, ByBit, BitGet, and Coins.ph.

According to Proof of Play, the $PIRATE token will enhance the game experience and engagement for Pirate Nation players, and will reward loyal community members without a presale or KOL round.

Pirate Nation is a fully on-chain, free-to-play pirate-themed role-playing game (RPG) developed by Proof of Play, a game studio specializing in decentralized games and infrastructure. The game is live on the studio’s Apex chain.

The $PIRATE token can be converted into Gems for in-game benefits, and players can also stake $PIRATE to earn Proof of Play Points, with an immediate +50% staking multiplier incentive.

Amitt Mahajan, co-founder and CEO of Proof of Play, said that the company aims to create engaging on-chain games and develop technologies to simplify on-chain game development.

“The single most important design principle of the $PIRATE token is ensuring Pirate Nation is made better, and more engaging, through its existence, and we are excited to offer utility while rewarding our dedicated community. We believe that Proof of Play Points are a way to recognize & reward players for their participation in the Proof of Play ecosystem,” he added.

However, Pirate Nation’s success still relies on continued player engagement and the effective implementation of game-enhancing features tied to the token.

Proof of Play also noted that over time, $PIRATE can be used for various activities in the game, such as:

• Crew Buffs: Crews can use $PIRATE to provide buffs to their members, increasing their stats and abilities.

• Shipyard: Players can use $PIRATE to construct and customize their ships, determining their speed, capacity, and combat effectiveness.

• Tavern: At the tavern, players can use $PIRATE to purchase drinks and food, which can provide temporary buffs or restore their health and energy.

• Black Market: The Black Market allows players to trade rare and valuable items using $PIRATE, potentially acquiring powerful artifacts or unique cosmetics.

• Captaincy: Players aspiring to become Captains can use $PIRATE to participate in the Captaincy election, gaining the opportunity to lead a Crew and influence the game’s direction.
