PayPal’s stablecoin, PayPal USD (PYUSD), has now been integrated into the U.S. banking system by FV Bank for external payments and direct deposits, allowing for instant conversion to and from USD.
All holders of FV Bank accounts will now have access to PYUSD. Notably, FV Bank is a fully licensed and regulated U.S. bank.
PYUSD serves as a highly efficient and liquid stablecoin option for FV Bank’s customers for their immediate payment and direct deposit needs.
With this integration, FV Bank account holders will not be required to mint the stablecoin or maintain an external digital wallet to send outbound payments to beneficiaries in PYUSD. Instead, customers can directly initiate PYUSD payments from their USD accounts, leveraging FV Bank’s real-time processing capabilities.
FV Bank will automatically debit USD, mint PYUSD as needed, and send it to the beneficiary almost instantaneously.
This stablecoin feature also includes the capability to instantly convert PYUSD back into USD, reducing the processing times and costs associated with traditional bank wire transfers.
“The integration of PYUSD deposits and payments, together with auto-conversion to and from USD, marks another significant milestone in our mission to provide the most advanced integrated banking service for our global customers,” said Miles Paschini, CEO of FV Bank.
“FV Bank is now one of the few regulated financial institutions in the United States to offer blockchain-powered payment rails with full-stack stablecoin on-ramp and off-ramp services, thanks to this new deposit and payment option.”
FV Bank’s direct deposit and payments service provides its customers with an additional option when transacting through their USD account. This feature is fully integrated with blockchain analytics tools to prescreen and identify transactions that may be linked to sanctions or AML activities.
