Pascal Hardfork for the 20th of March, which allows Ethereum [ETH] compatibility on mainnet.

After a successful testnet, Ethereum's EIP-7702 enables smart contract wallets to function with gasless transactions, batch approvals, and multi-signature support.

Pascal Hardfork for the 20th of March, which allows Ethereum [ETH] compatibility on mainnet.

Binance Chain has set the Pascal Hardfork for March 20, which will bring Ethereum [ETH] compatibility to the mainnet.

This follows a successful testnet launch, and the integration of Ethereum’s EIP-7702 will enable smart contract wallets to function with gasless transactions, batch approvals, and multi-signature support.

Together, these aim to improve the user experience and facilitate easier onboarding to Web3 through support for dApps to pay for gas fees.

Node operators, validators, and exchanges are advised to update to v1.5.7 for compatibility before the hardfork. Otherwise, there will be desync and impact on sync capability.

The upgrade is a part of BNB Chain’s 2025 roadmap, which also includes the April Lorentz Hardfork (1.5-second blocks) and June Maxwell Hardfork (0.75-second blocks). These will further enhance transaction speed and provide greater flexibility for developers on the EVM-compatible chain.

This initiative is in response to community feedback and a collective endeavor to continuously enhance the BNB Chain ecosystem.

The community co-governance model

Furthermore, Binance is introducing a community co-governance model for token listings and delistings on the BNB Smart Chain.

This approach aims to foster transparency and quality assurance through decentralized decision-making, empowering the community to prioritize top-tier projects and contribute to the overall health of the ecosystem.

By introducing “Vote to List” and “Vote to Delist” mechanisms, Binance aims to enable greater community participation and give users a stronger voice in the listing process.

This move is part of a broader effort to integrate AI and community feedback into the Smart Chain.

The community co-governance model is powered by analytics to provide voters with valuable insights into each token, such as price performance, trading volume, community engagement, and the results of any completed or planned security audits.

This information will be useful for making informed choices.

To participate in voting, community members can register through Binance and select their preferred tokens for listing or delisting.

The voting period will commence soon, and community members who have staked BNB will be eligible to vote.

Votes will be weighted according to the amount of BNB staked, ensuring that the economic strength of the community is reflected in the decision-making process.
