Pantera Capital Predicts Bitcoin Will Soar to $117,000 by 2025

May 09, 2024 at 10:22 pm

Pantera Capital, a renowned crypto hedge fund, has expressed significant optimism regarding Bitcoin's (BTC) growth, predicting a potential rise to $117,000 by August 2025. Despite current market fluctuations, analysts from Pantera Capital highlight historical trends and emphasize the impact of the cryptocurrency halving on market dynamics, supporting their bullish long-term forecast for Bitcoin's price trajectory.

Pantera Capital Forecasts Bitcoin's Ascent to $117,000 by August 2025

Pantera Capital, a renowned crypto hedge fund, has expressed profound optimism regarding the exponential growth potential of Bitcoin (BTC). In a recent analysis, the fund predicts a significant surge in Bitcoin's value, projecting it to reach a staggering $117,000 by August 2025.

Despite the cryptocurrency market's recent decline, with Bitcoin (BTC), the preeminent cryptocurrency, facing a substantial drop to $60,650—its lowest point in recent days—Pantera Capital remains steadfast in its bullish outlook. Since the cryptocurrency's halving event on April 19, Bitcoin's price has exhibited considerable fluctuations and declines.

Analysts emphasize the profound significance of halving events for cryptocurrencies, recognizing that their impact often materializes over several years. In this context, experts cite a previous prediction: "When we initially formulated this prediction, Bitcoin's value stood at $17,000. The model predicted a period of decline and subsequent recovery following the halving, culminating in a peak of $117,000 by August 2025, based on the average duration of prior rallies."

According to Pantera Capital analysts, the market experienced a low point several weeks following the forecast. "Statistically, the average time frame for such an occurrence relative to previous halvings has been 2.6 years, with pre- and post-halving rallies exhibiting similar durations. Notably, the symmetry between these cycles is remarkable—the rally preceding the 2024 halving spanned 515 days, merely one day longer than the 514-day rally leading up to the 2020 halving."

Based on these observations, experts reiterated their forecast, expressing confidence that Bitcoin's price will reach $117,000 by 2025, surpassing its previous all-time high of $73,737.94. At the time of this report's publication, Bitcoin's price was hovering around $61,419.96, reflecting a 1.2% decrease over the preceding 24 hours.

Expert Analysis: Long-Term Bitcoin Price Projections

In a separate development, Plan B, a renowned trading expert, shared his predictions for Bitcoin's price trajectory between 2024 and 2032 in a publication on X on May 7. Plan B analyzed the latest market movements, noting that Bitcoin's average price during the 2020-2024 halving cycle fell short of the 2019 forecast of $55,000, settling at $34,000.

Delving into his analysis, Plan B projected Bitcoin's average price for the 2024-2028 halving cycle at $500,000, while the subsequent halving cycle between 2028 and 2032 could witness an impressive surge to $4 million.

These long-term predictions underscore the enduring belief in Bitcoin's potential for substantial growth, despite the market's current fluctuations.
