This 2p cleaning hack will make your grubby baking trays shiny again - and it's pure magic
Jan 05, 2025 at 06:00 pm
Forget the festive fairy, this mum's discovered a cleaning hack that's pure magic - turning grubby baking trays shiny without chucking them in the bin post-Christmas feast

A mum has revealed a clever cleaning hack that can save you from chucking out grubby baking trays after the festive feast - and all you need is a 2p coin.
Cleaning fans are always on the lookout for new tips and tricks to keep their kitchenware sparkling - especially during the busy Christmas period.
But if you're fed up of having to replace baking trays due to burnt-on food stains, then this tip from a Hinch Army fan could be a total game-changer.
Taking to the Hinch Army Cleaning Tips Facebook page, Louise Wright shared her before-and-after snaps of her baking tray - and the results are incredible.
She revealed that the secret to getting rid of the stains is to simply rub the baking tray with a 2p coin, before washing it as you would with your daily dishes.
Louise said: "Don't bin baking trays. I spend a fortune on baking trays because I buy the cheaper range and they don't last long being marked by tough cooking stains.
"But I tried the 2p trick going about and it worked. Rub the baking tray with the 2p and then wash as you would with daily dishes.
"It works and takes away the burnt marks left from baking/cooking. No more binning and replacing."
Her tip has racked up loads of likes and comments on social media, with many praising Louise for her cost-effective solution.
One responder said: "Fabulous, thank you."
Another lamented: "OMG the money I've wasted throwing them away."
A third user said: "Will give this a go now. Thanks for sharing."
And a fourth user declared: "Game changer."
Someone else contributed their own two cents, revealing that the 2p technique is equally nifty for getting rid of limescale from tap ends - just imagine what else it could do!
