OpenSea Expands Its Blockchain Infrastructure to Include Ronin

OpenSea, one of the leading multi-chain non-fungible token marketplaces by trading sales and users, has announced plans to expand its blockchain infrastructure. The NFT marketplace has announced support for Ronin, a renowned blockchain network, bringing the number of NFT blockchains on the platform to 17. The integration will officially launch before the end of this year.

How It Started:

The renowned non-fungible token marketplace, OpenSea, is expanding its blockchain infrastructure to include Ronin, a popular blockchain network. The integration will add 17 NFT blockchains supported by the platform, aiming to boost its growth and interactions in the future.

The upcoming integration of Ronin is part of OpenSea’s broader strategy to become the ultimate destination for all things NFTs. The company is also rolling out OS2, a highly anticipated upgraded NFT market platform currently in Beta version testing.

The upgraded marketplace will feature 14 new blockchain networks, including Flow, Apechain, Soneum, and Berachain blockchain networks, with more networks on the way in the future.

Why It Matters

The move by OpenSea comes as the NFT market continues to grow rapidly. Non-fungible token marketplaces are constantly looking for new ways to attract and retain users.

The addition of Ronin will bring a number of popular NFT collections to the OpenSea platform. It will also help to increase the liquidity of the Ronin ecosystem.

OpenSea is a non-custodial platform, allowing users full control and access to their cryptocurrency wallets. The platform is also designed to be user-friendly and accessible to beginners.

On the other hand, Ronin is an Ethereum Virtual Machine blockchain network created by Sky Mavis, the team behind the popular Axie Infinity. The network is designed to power NFTs and blockchain-based gaming. It’s optimized for fast, low-cost transactions and scalability.

The network was created in 2021 in response to the challenges of Ethereum’s Layer 1 scalability and high transaction fees at the time. Afterward, it was deployed on the mainnet in June 2022.

The integration of Ronin is part of OpenSea’s broader strategy to become the leading multi-chain NFT marketplace in the industry. The platform is also planning to add support for other popular blockchains in the future.
