NEAR Protocol, a decentralized blockchain platform designed for developing and running decentralized applications (dApps), has announced a new partnership with Nillion Network.

Decentralized blockchain platform NEAR Protocol has announced a new partnership with Nillion Network to enhance privacy solutions for developers. This partnership aims to strengthen the development of secure applications, particularly in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector.
SpaceNerds, a company specializing in private computing, will be collaborating with NEAR Protocol to integrate privacy features and data storage capabilities. This announcement comes shortly after Nillion's integration with Ethereum scaling layer Arbitrum, becoming the floor's first layer-2 blockchain.
This integration is designed to optimize privacy and storage for developers operating within the NEAR ecosystem. The "blinded computing" method enables developers to input, process, and transfer sensitive information and computations outside the blockchain (off-chain). This capability highlights the potential of blockchain technology in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI).
Alex Page, CEO of Nillion, expressed enthusiasm regarding the collaboration, stating that it will amplify NEAR's capabilities and empower developers to create robust solutions with enhanced privacy features.
Nillion and NEARعاون to bolster AI privacy, security
NEAR Protocol, which aims to establish an ecosystem of user-owned AI and applications, also aligns with Nillion's focus on privacy. Illia Polosukhin, a Russian entrepreneur who played a key role in the creation of the open-source TensorFlow platform, envisions NEAR as the home for user-owned AI tools, a goal that complements Nillion's privacy-centric model.
According to Page, NEAR's emphasis on advancing AI autonomy aligns with Nillion's capabilities in the realm of privacy-preserving AI. Both organizations share a common aspiration: to establish a paradigm where users retain control over the data utilized to optimize AI applications.
Nillion, established in early 2021, has garnered support from other crypto-related firms, including HashKey and OP Crypto, in its mission to enhance privacy in Web3. The company completed its $20 million seed fundraise last year. This new collaboration between NEAR and Nillion is expected to further advance the development of privacy and data handling within the blockchain industry, providing developers with additional instruments to enhance their projects.
