Neo Ecosystem Weekly: General Updates, Developer Updates, NNT Catch Up, and Events

Neo updates its Escape the Matrix game, invites players to compete for a piece of the US $30,000 prize pool. The Neo X EVM sidechain now hosts the AI agent, challenging players to outwit its puzzle-solving mechanisms and convince it to part ways with the GAS tokens in the pool. The game launched on Jan. 9 and concludes on Jan. 14.

Neo has also updated the Neo X Grind Hackathon timeline. Community voting for hackathon projects will open on Jan. 13, the vote window will close on Jan. 20, and the winners will be announced on Jan. 21.

DogeRift founder Marko Silko (aka Zoxyi) has announced that the team is indefinitely suspending any development on the 2D/3D play-to-earn game and its associated Bored Doge Club NFTs. Zoxyi stated the team will help compensate DOGER/DOGEF and NFT token holders with NEO. Silko’s statement was published in the official DogeRift Discord server.

Flamingo Finance has announced an upcoming Testnet Trading Competition, designed to facilitate testing of its new block-based, on-chain OrderBook+ on Neo N3. The competition will run from 2:00 p.m. (UTC) on Jan. 13 to 2:00 p.m. on Jan. 27, offering participants the chance to win a share of a 200 GAS reward pool, valued at over US $1,000 at the time of writing.

Flamingo Finance has also conducted the LRB Fund distribution, where those who sent their LRB to the disbursement fund have received their proportional FUSD. The LRB Fund was created to help make LRB token holders whole after the algorithmic stablecoin project shut down following the Terra-Luna collapse in 2022. It was initially seeded with NEP-17 token donations from projects across the ecosystem and earned 1% of the interest on FUSD created since June 2022.

Two proposals from GrantShares were highlighted this week — one put on-chain for a vote and another put forth for discussion. A proposal for expanding the Neo community in Vietnam was put on-chain for voting to distribute GAS for a community member to use for six months of monthly rewards for giveaway campaigns. At the time of press, the proposal has reached quorum with five votes in favor and one in dissent. Additionally, a proposal for a Neo dashboard in Alphaday was put forth for discussion.

Finally, nDapp has added the DeXFun gamified perpetual futures exchange, the Nichome user participation incentive platform, and the Escape the Matrix AI agent adversarial game to its app and dApp discovery platform.

Developer UpdatesCOZ hosted a community poll, which determined that the team will implement support for the Polygon blockchain into the Neon Wallet.
