MicroStrategy's Michael Saylor Issues Bullish Statement on Bitcoin (BTC) as It Eyes $60,000
Aug 12, 2024 at 11:32 pm
Taking to social media platform X, MicroStrategy's chairman and cofounder, Michael Saylor, has issued a bullish statement on Bitcoin (BTC).

MicroStrategy (Nasdaq: MSTR) chairman and cofounder Michael Saylor took to social media platform X to issue a bullish statement on Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC).
Saylor's statement comes as BTC eyes levels of $60,000, recovering from short-term market volatility.
What Happened: In a Monday post, Saylor wrote, "Unlock your future. #Bitcoin," and included an image of a Bitcoin on a key.
The post quickly spread through the crypto community, with many anticipating further upside for BTC.

Saylor's post did not go into detail on future price action for Bitcoin, yet his statement was interpreted in several ways by crypto enthusiasts.
Some described Bitcoin as the key to generational wealth, while others said it is the key no one should miss out on.
Bitcoin's performance over the last week was impressive, with an increase of 9.75% to $58,118. On the daily time frame, BTC declined by 3.8%.
Trading volume spiked 86% to reach $31 billion.

On the other side of the coin, new fund flows into the spot Bitcoin market were evident.
BlackRock's (NYSE:BLK) iShares Trust levied a single day's net creation of $525.5 million in its spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund, the iShares Bitcoin Trust (NYSE:IBTC).
Increased activity in the spot Bitcoin ecosystem could lead to further price appreciation for the apex cryptocurrency.
MicroStrategy's Bitcoin Bet Continues To Pay Off: Saylor has remained bullish on the world's leading digital asset, despite challenges.
The chairman has maintained his conviction that Bitcoin is a superior store of value and money for the future.
Recently, Saylor praised Morgan Stanley's (NYSE:MS) decision to begin permitting the solicited sale of Bitcoin.
"Bitcoin is sound money and a monetary good. It is legal tender in El Salvador, and it can now be legally bought and sold by financial advisors at Morgan Stanley. Good work!" Saylor said.
MicroStrategy's bold move to begin acquiring Bitcoin four years ago, spearheaded by Saylor, appears to be paying off in a big way.
The company, whose stock floundered in the early 2000s, outperformed 499 out of 500 stocks in the S&P 500.
