MicroStrategy Adds 15,355 Bitcoin to Holdings, Achieving 13.7% YTD 2025 BTC Yield

MicroStrategy has purchased 15,355 Bitcoin for approximately $1.42 billion, expanding its digital asset holdings, the company announced on Friday.

The purchase, which occurred between April 21st and April 27th, values the Bitcoin at an average price of $92,737. The acquisition increases Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings by about 3% to 535,555 Bitcoin, which has a current value of over $50 billion.

This acquisition is Strategy's largest since March, when the company purchased 22,048 Bitcoin for $1.92 billion at an average price of $86,969.

At the beginning of the year, Strategy set a target BTC yield of 15% for 2025.

As of April 27th, Strategy's BTC yield is 13.7% YTD 2025. The company's BTC yield is a metric that reflects the percentage change in the ratio between its Bitcoin holdings and assumed fully diluted shares.

Bitcoin's price rose by approximately 8% between April 21st and April 27th, from around $87,000 to nearly $94,000.

On April 25th, Saylor posted on X, "you can still buy BTC for less than $0.1 million."

In a separate post on April 27th, Saylor wrote, "stay humble. Stack sats," sharing a screenshot of Strategy's Bitcoin purchases overlaid on a price chart.

The post is a copy of a post on X by MicroStrategy CEO, in which he says you can still buy Bitcoin for less than $100,000.

"You can still buy #BTC for less than $0.1 million," Saylor wrote on Thursday.

In a separate post, Saylor added, "stay humble. Stack sats," sharing a screenshot of Strategy's Bitcoin purchases overlaid on a price chart.

Both posts have since gained attention online, with some users poking fun at the CEO.

One user replied to Saylor's post about buying Bitcoin for less than $100,000 with a meme that read: "When you're trying to tell your mom that you spent less than $500,000 on crypto but really spent $1.5 billion."

Another user joked about how Saylor's Bitcoin purchases are "eating away" at the cryptocurrency's supply.

"Imagine if we could get a president to hold a press conference every Friday morning to announce the amount of Bitcoin the U.S. Treasury is buying this week," the user wrote. "Then, the president would open the floor to questions from the press about the administration's cryptocurrency policy."
