Michael Saylor Drops Subtle Hint, Sparking Speculation That Strategy May Be Preparing for Another Major Bitcoin Purchase

Speculation around this move intensified after the company's co-founder, Michael Saylor, dropped a subtle hint on social media.

Michael Saylor Drops Subtle Hint, Sparking Speculation That Strategy May Be Preparing for Another Major Bitcoin Purchase

Technology firm Strategy, known for its software offerings, might be preparing to add to its massive Bitcoin (BTC) holdings.

This speculation gained momentum after the company's co-founder, Michael Saylor, shared a cryptic message on social media, hinting at unrecorded Bitcoin transactions.

Market Buzz حول منشور تعقب Bitcoin الخاص بشركة Saylor

On February 23, Saylor posted a Bitcoin tracker on X (formerly Twitter), a move that has preceded major acquisitions in the past. His cryptic message suggested that recent Bitcoin transactions were not yet reflected in the tracker.

“I don’t think this reflects what I got done last week,” wrote Saylor on X.

Considering his history of sharing similar charts before major Bitcoin acquisitions, members of the crypto community speculated that the firm was preparing for another purchase.

“Michael Saylor posted his BTC purchase tracker again, which means Strategy will announce another large Bitcoin purchase tomorrow,” wrote Nikolaus Hoffman.

Some speculated that Strategy could allocate up to $2 billion to Bitcoin, which would align with its recent move to raise funds through convertible bonds.

These bonds, which carry no interest but can be converted into company stock, are set to mature in March 2030 and will be treated as unsecured senior obligations.

This capital raise is part of Strategy's "21/21 Plan," which aims to secure $42 billion for BTC investments. The company hopes to raise $21 billion through equity sales and another $21 billion through fixed-income securities.

Strategy, once known for its software focus, has become the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. This pivot has also boosted investor interest, earning its stock a place in the Nasdaq-100.

The firm's last Bitcoin acquisition was on February 10, when it purchased 7,633 BTC for $742.4 million. Currently, Strategy holds 478,740 BTC, valued at roughly $47 billion, with a total investment of $31.1 billion.

The company also recently highlighted that its MSTR convertible bonds have yielded a 71% return since their issuance, surpassing Bitcoin's own gains during this period.

Moreover, Strategy's aggressive BTC-first approach has inspired other companies to follow suit. According to HODL15 Capital, over 70 publicly traded firms worldwide have now added Bitcoin to their reserves, largely influenced by Saylor's Strategy.
