Mask Network Splits Messaging App, DID Solution, and Web3 Bio Under MaskDAO

Mask Network has announced the spin-off of Firefly Everything App, Next.ID, and Web3.bio under MaskDAO, aiming to foster growth and innovation in the Web3 space.

Mask Network, a decentralized messaging protocol, has announced the spin-off of three projects, namely Firefly Everything App, Next.ID, and Web3.bio, under MaskDAO. This move is intended to nurture the growth and innovation of decentralized social platforms in the Web3 realm.

Each project will function autonomously under the umbrella of MaskDAO, aligning with Mask Network's broader mission to advance decentralized social platforms and fully embrace the ethos of Web3.

Mask Network is renowned for its protocol, which enables encrypted messaging on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. Founded in July 2019, Mask Network operates as a decentralized network layered over the conventional internet, bridging the gap between the two worlds.

Initially conceived to facilitate the encryption of posts on Facebook and Twitter, Mask Network's capabilities have since expanded significantly. It now empowers users to directly fund Gitcoin grant campaigns via Twitter, with plans to introduce peer-to-peer payments and decentralized storage solutions. By integrating DApps, the platform grants users access to functionalities like crypto payments, decentralized finance, and e-commerce (including NFTs) on existing social networks. This integration fosters the creation of a decentralized Applet (DApplet) ecosystem, enabling users to leverage decentralized services seamlessly within their preferred platforms.

Mask Network's governance token is denoted by MASK. Its management falls under the jurisdiction of MaskDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization. Token holders are entrusted with the responsibility of voting on crucial matters pertaining to the MaskDAO, where each MASK token held corresponds to one vote.
