The Horizon (ZEN) network upgrade enhances scalability, transaction speed, and security via improved algorithms, ZK applications, EVM compatibility, and a unified mainnet/eon sidechain architecture.
The Horizon (ZEN) network upgrade is of great significance and aims to comprehensively improve network performance and functions. First, scalability will be optimized. Previously, when the transaction processing volume of the network increased, it often encountered congestion. By introducing a new technical architecture, this upgrade can handle transactions more efficiently, increase transaction carrying capacity per unit time, and meet the growing user transaction needs.
In terms of efficiency improvement, the underlying algorithm of the network is optimized. In the past, transaction confirmation time was long, which affected the user experience. After the upgrade, the transaction confirmation time can be greatly shortened, so that transfers, payment and other operations can be completed faster, and funds arrive more timely, enhancing the practicality of the network.
The upgrade will also focus on improving Zero Knowledge (ZK) applications. This will make decentralized applications (dapps) run faster and less expensive for developers. It can attract more developers to develop applications based on Horizon (ZEN) network, enrich the application types of the ecosystem, and bring more functions and services to users.
This upgrade will integrate an advanced proof mechanism. The new mechanism can more effectively verify the authenticity and integrity of transaction information, prevent fraudulent transactions, enhance network security, ensure the security of user assets, and make users more at ease when using the network to conduct transactions.
The Horizon (ZEN) network will also unify the main chain and the eon side chain. In the past, there were some obstacles when the main chain and side chain worked together. After unification, resource allocation can be optimized, data transmission delay can be reduced, interaction between the main chain and side chain is smoother, and overall operation efficiency can be improved.
In terms of network architecture, future-oriented modular architectures have been enhanced. This will improve the functions and interoperability between various chains in the network, and better collaboration between different chains can be achieved, data sharing and business collaboration, promote the development of the entire network ecosystem, and promote the interconnection of various applications.
For the convenience of developers, the upgrade will enhance Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility. Solidity developers can easily access powerful ZK functions in familiar environments, lower development thresholds, accelerate project development process based on Horizon (ZEN) network, and attract more developers of the Ethereum ecosystem to participate.
The project party also plans to introduce precompiled contracts for efficient ZK proof verification. This contract can accelerate the proof verification process, reduce computing resource consumption, improve the network's ability to handle complex services, and provide technical support for complex encryption application scenarios.
ZEN proof of stake using the DPoS consensus model will also be introduced. This consensus model can improve consensus achievement efficiency and reduce energy consumption. Compared with traditional consensus mechanisms, it can determine the transaction sequence more quickly and ensure the stable operation of the network.
The Nimbus framework chosen by the collector will also be integrated in this upgrade. This framework ensures efficient and fair selection of organizers through reasonable algorithms, optimizes network resource allocation, and improves overall network performance and reliability.
