Kaspa (KAS) Could Still Be a Better Cryptocurrency Than Pi Coin: Here's Why
Mar 10, 2025 at 06:31 pm
Pi Network has seen a lot of attention following its launch, and many are also joining the ecosystem as it is seeing recognition from some notable exchanges and figures.

Kaspa (KAS) has been making some gains recently, rising from lows of around $0.40 to highs of $0.70. The analyst, who goes by the name Saint on X, had previously predicted Bitcoin’s rally to $120,000 last year.
Now, turning his attention to two cryptocurrencies that have gained significant attention—Kaspa and Pi Network—Saint highlights why he believes Kaspa still holds some major advantages.
No Pre-Mining, Venture Capital Funding, or ICOs for Kaspa
Kaspa belongs entirely to its community. Unlike many cryptocurrencies that begin with pre-mining, venture capital funding, or ICOs, Kaspa started with everyone on equal footing. No one had special access or better deals before the public.
This fair launch of KAS means the coins are distributed more evenly among users. When everyone has the same opportunity from day one, it fosters a stronger, more dedicated community focused on long-term success. In contrast, many cryptocurrencies begin with a small group holding a large portion of the tokens, which can be used to quickly dump on the community.
Kaspa’s proof-of-work system, which comes in minimal amounts, is used to create new coins. This approach ensures that tokens are earned through actual work rather than just being handed out.
The mining process is also spread across many different computers worldwide. This decentralization is crucial because it prevents any single person or group from having too much power. When power is distributed, the system becomes more secure and less susceptible to manipulation.
Superior Transaction Speed
One of Kaspa’s biggest advantages is how quickly it processes transactions. Thanks to its innovative blockDAG technology, Kaspa can handle transactions much faster than many traditional blockchain networks.
This speed is due to Kaspa’s ability to process multiple blocks at the same time, rather than one after another like Bitcoin. The result is nearly instant transaction confirmations, making Kaspa practical for everyday purchases where waiting isn’t an option.
Minimal Transaction Fees and High Scalability
No one wants to pay high fees just to use their money. Kaspa keeps transaction costs very low, which means you can send small amounts without losing a significant portion to fees. This is crucial for a cryptocurrency that people will use regularly.
Many cryptocurrencies also slow down or become more expensive as more people use them. But Kaspa’s design allows it to handle an increasing number of users while maintaining its speed and low costs. This scalability is essential for any cryptocurrency hoping to reach mainstream use.
Smart Contracts on the Horizon
While Kaspa currently works primarily as a currency, it plans to add smart contract capabilities soon. This feature will allow for automated agreements and transactions without middlemen.
When implemented, smart contracts will expand what’s possible with Kaspa. Developers will be able to build applications, games, and financial services on the network. This will transform Kaspa from just a digital currency into a platform for innovation.
Digital Commodity Backed by Energy
Kaspa considers itself a digital commodity similar to Bitcoin. Its value comes partly from the real energy used in the mining process, giving it a connection to the physical world.
This commodity status is important because it means Kaspa doesn’t have a central issuer making promises about future performance. Instead, its value is based on its utility and the resources required to create it. This approach may help Kaspa avoid some regulatory issues that affect cryptocurrencies classified as securities.
Sound Global Internet Money
Saint describes Kaspa as “sound global internet money,” and there’s truth to this claim. By combining speed, low fees, true decentralization, and fair distribution, Kaspa meets many requirements for effective digital money.
In today’s connected world, we need money that works the same for everyone regardless of location. Kaspa offers this with transactions that settle quickly and cheaply across borders. Its design prioritizes the qualities most important for a global currency: accessibility, efficiency, fairness, and security.
Overall, Kaspa’s fundamental strengths give it potential not just against PI Coin but in the broader digital currency landscape.
