Jakarta, Pintu News – A recent crypto index management firm Bitwise report revealed that fund flows into Bitcoin

May 26, 2025 at 11:04 am

In the best-case scenario, the total flow of funds could reach $426.9 billion. This surge is triggered by the increasing interest of institutional investors

input: A recent crypto index management firm Bitwise report revealed that fund flows into Bitcoin are set to escalate in 2024, potentially reaching $426.9 billion in the best-case scenario.

This surge is driven by the increasing interest of institutional investors, sovereign funds, Bitcoin ETFs, and public companies that have begun to hold BTC as a reserve asset.

Moreover, with 94.6% of the total Bitcoin supply already mined by May 2025, this demand pressure from various parties further fuels the narrative of Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation and fiat currency weakness.

Bitcoin and corporate ETFs are the main engines of growth

Bitwise noted that U.S. -based spot-based Bitcoin ETFs witnessed inflows of IDR 592 trillion ($36.2 billion) throughout 2024.

This surpasses the early success of the legendary gold ETF, SPDR Gold Shares (GLD), which revolutionized how investors invest in the yellow metal with a total of IDR 344 trillion ($21 billion) in 2024.

In contrast, Bitcoin ETFs managed to achieve IDR 2,044 trillion ($125 billion) in assets under management in just 12 months—a feat 20 times faster than GLD and rendering it the fastest-adopted ETF in U.S. history.

The speed of adoption is a strong indicator that Bitcoin has the potential to outgrow gold as the ultimate store of value. Bitwise projects that Bitcoin ETFs could attract up to IDR 1,636 trillion ($100 billion) per year by 2027.

“If we look at the speed at which people are allocating into Bitcoin ETFs versus the time it took for people to allocate into the first major U.S. gold ETF—which was a huge event—people are pouring money into Bitcoin ETFs even faster than theypoured money into the first major U.S. gold ETF,” said Ben Horowitz, portfolio manager at Bitwise.

“We’re looking at a potential IDR 4,909 trillion over the next three years, which is an average of IDR 1,636 trillion per year in 2025, 2026, and 2027.”
