Idogun High School '85: From Classmates to Commissioner

The journey from the hallowed halls of Idogun High School to the esteemed office of Ondo State Commissioner is a tale worth telling. This story focuses on Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, a proud alumnus of the Class of '85, and the heartwarming reunion he shared with his former classmates following his appointment.

A Visit Down Memory Lane

The Class of 1985 of Idogun High School recently paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, to celebrate his appointment by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. The visit was filled with nostalgia, gratitude, and a shared sense of pride.

Gratitude and Recognition

Mr. Temijana Micheal Olaniyi, President of the Class of '85, expressed the group's gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for recognizing Hon. Ajanaku's potential. He lauded Ajanaku as a seasoned journalist and “a round peg in a round hole,” whose experience would be invaluable to the Governor's OUR EASE Agenda.

Giving Back to Alma Mater

The Idogun Development Association Worldwide's construction of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre for Idogun High School was also highlighted during the visit. This 200-seat facility will serve schools in the Ireakari axis during WAEC and NECO examinations. The Class of '85 appealed to the Commissioner and the State Government for support in equipping the centre with computers and furniture.

Reminiscing About the Good Old Days

The visit was also an opportunity for classmates to share fond memories of their school days with Ajanaku. Hon. Ade Funmilayo recalled Ajanaku's early passion for journalism, always carrying a newspaper. Mr. John Abitoye praised his brilliance in history, and Ms. Nike Busari remembered his discipline and active role in the school's Press Club. These anecdotes paint a picture of Ajanaku's early leadership qualities and dedication.

Ajanaku's Humble Response

Hon. Ajanaku responded with emotion and gratitude, attributing his success to divine grace. He reflected on his career in journalism, his service to Lagos State governors, and his current appointment. Assuring his classmates of his support, he stated, “It is only God who knows the future. I followed my passion, and He has helped me this far.”

More Than Just a Visit

This visit signifies more than just a reunion; it represents the enduring bonds forged in youth and the importance of giving back to one's community. The Class of '85's support for their alma mater and their celebration of Hon. Ajanaku's achievements are truly inspiring.

A Bright Future

It's heartwarming to see how the seeds planted at Idogun High School have blossomed into remarkable achievements. Here's to hoping that Hon. Ajanaku's journey inspires current students to dream big, work hard, and maybe one day, a future class will be visiting you in your own corner office!
