Massive Ticketmaster Data Breach Impacts 560 Million Customers

Hacking group ShinyHunters has claimed to have breached global events giant Ticketmaster and stolen the details of 560 million customers, which includes names, addresses, phone numbers and partial credit card details. The group's post on an online forum said the data was available for purchase for $500,000 in a “one-time sale.” The Australian government said Thursday it is investigating the claims, and the FBI has offered assistance to Australian authorities, a spokesperson for the U.S. Embassy in Canberra told Agence France-Presse.

“The National Office of Cyber Security is engaging with Ticketmaster to understand the incident,” a spokesperson for the Australia Home Affairs Department said in a statement to CBS News. The department also urged people with “specific inquiries relating to this incident” to contact Ticketmaster.

Ticketmaster and its parent company, Live Nation, haven’t issued statements on the possible breach.

Darktrace Appoints Jill Popelka as Chief Operating Officer

Prior to joining Snap in 2022, Jill was President of SAP SuccessFactors, where she was responsible for strategy, customer success, and the overall health of the business unit. Before Jill’s appointment as President of SAP SuccessFactors, she served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, overseeing all aspects of the business units’ operations.
