Hyperliquid, Worldcoin, and Remittix Are 3 XRP Substitutes to Watch in 2025
May 25, 2025 at 04:00 pm
Ripple is a trailblazer in the global payments space, no doubt about that. But 2025 is packed with new players that could offer much more potential by tackling the areas where XRP falls short.
Hyperliquid is quickly becoming a hot topic in the crypto world. It's a decentralized exchange that's been designed with one goal in mind: to provide the speed and liquidity of a centralized exchange, but with the full transparency and user control of a DEX.
Running on its own custom layer-1, Hyperliquid can clear trades in under a second and handle up to 100,000 orders per second. Compared to CEXs, which usually take around five to 10 seconds to process a large trade, Hyperliquid is about 10 times faster.
The platform's on-chain order book and HyperBFT consensus make every trade transparent and secure. Plus, with the launch of HyperEVM, its Ethereum-compatible layer, earlier this year, the Hyperliquid ecosystem is growing rapidly, encompassing lending, staking, stablecoins, and even AI dApps.
Hyperliquid's layer-1 now boasts a total value locked of $1.32 billion, a figure that has nearly doubled in the past month. This signifies the rapid growth of the ecosystem's DeFi protocols.
In essence, it's like Ripple's vision, but rewritten for power users who want deep liquidity and a vibrant ecosystem of DeFi protocols, all within a decentralized platform.
HYPE, the exchange's native token, has surged over 87% in the past 30 days, recovering rapidly from a recent bear market downturn. It's interesting to note that while Ripple's token has seen minimal gains of 4% in the previous 30 days, HYPE has experienced substantial 13.4% gains in the past 24 hours alone.
Next up is Worldcoin, a project that's aiming to bring digital identity to the masses. Having already handed out over 12.5 million verified World IDs in cities like Singapore, LA, and Tokyo, Worldcoin scans users' irises using its Orb devices to unlock access to the WLD token and a growing set of DeFi tools.
Worldcoin is tackling two problems that Ripple attempted to solve: providing a way for people to connect with decentralized finance and doing so on a global scale. However, Worldcoin is doing it with a personal, verifiable ID integrated from the beginning.
The project is rapidly expanding, having secured $135 million in new funding and onboarded over 26 million users. It's also venturing into major U.S. cities and Southeast Asia to distribute more Orbs and continue building its decentralized financial network.
Like HYPE, WLD has experienced a significant surge recently, skyrocketing 66% in the last 30 days. With its all-time high at $1.44 today, and a current price of $0.15, there's still plenty of room for growth.
Finally, we have Remittix, a platform designed for one key task: quickly transferring crypto to bank accounts without any fuss. It supports over 40 cryptocurrencies and allows users to easily convert them into fiat and send funds to any global bank account.
There are no hidden fees or FX charges, so the amount sent is the amount received. On the other side, the recipient simply sees a regular bank transfer, no matter where in the world the funds originate.
This convenience factor is crucial for mainstream adoption, and it's where RTX steps into Ripple's territory. While Remittix focuses on cross-border payments, it also brings crypto to the consumer level, which is something that XRP doesn't fully cover.
Moreover, Remittix Pay allows businesses to accept crypto and settle in fiat, with a merchant account option granting access to 30+ fiat currencies and over 50 crypto pairs.
In essence, Remittix is a crypto-to-fiat off-ramp with immense potential, especially in the $194 trillion cross-border payments market, which is still heavily reliant on outdated and inefficient systems.
To aid in building these new rails, Remittix has raised over $15.2 million to date, and its RTX token is currently priced at $0.0781. After a recent downturn, the token has begun to recover, indicating potential for further gains in the second half of 2025.
