Hyperliquid’s (HYPE) native token has experienced an 11% surge in the past 24 hours as the decentralized exchange token maintains its spot among the most-watched DeFi coins in the present market cycle.

Just days ago, the rally propelled HYPE toward an all-time high of $38.68 as the token benefits from unprecedented levels of activity on the Hyperliquid DEX.

This recent price increase showcases Hyperliquid's resiliency and rising market confidence in the ecosystem as it continues its impressive 270% recovery from April's lows around $10. Along with the price surge, trading volume has soared, with Saturday's daily volumes reaching $570.5 million, a significant recovery from May's monthly lows of just $78 million.

HYPE/USD Technical Analysis: Pointing Toward Solana-Style Breakout

Most importantly, HYPE's current price structure closely resembles Solana's (SOL) breakout pattern from early 2021, which preceded a remarkable 300% surge, transforming SOL from a lesser-known altcoin into a top-tier cryptocurrency.

There are strong technological parallels. Solana broke sharply above crucial Fibonacci retracement levels in January 2021, setting off a vertical climb as SOL shot up from around $4.90 to $19 in less than two months. Following its own consolidation phase, HYPE just hit a similar milestone on May 23, breaching its 1.0 Fibonacci retracement level at approximately $35.88.

According to present technical indicators, HYPE may be entering the early stages of an equivalent explosive move. Mirroring Solana's RSI profile during its 2021 breakout, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) has entered deep overbought territory above 84. This signals the strength of the current momentum even as it also calls for some short-term caution.

Ambitious Price Targets Based on Fibonacci Extensions

Technical analysts have identified several important price targets if HYPE continues following its fractal pattern. The immediate target is the 1.618 Fibonacci extension level around $51.68, which represents about a 35% upside from current levels. However, the more ambitious goal is at the 4.618 Fibonacci level at around $128, which would be an astounding 240% move from the current breakout zone near $35.

After successfully holding above the $35.73 resistance level, short-term price action suggests HYPE to initially target $42.25. A sustained move above this level might provide the momentum needed for the next leg higher toward the $50 psychological barrier.

Ansem, a market analyst, has compared the concept of Hyperliquid with the early cooperation goals of Solana and FTX to highlight that Hyperliquid provides a low-cost, high-performance trading experience with a completely on-chain architecture. Importantly, around 97% of all trading fees return directly to HYPE token holders, thus generating substantial underlying value for long-term investors.

Hyperliquid's TVL has also seen impressive growth, rising from $254 million in early April to $455 million at present. In tandem with this, DEX volume has soared from April lows of $42.67 million to peaks exceeding $590 million, indicating the rapidly expanding user base and trading activity on the platform.
