Humanode Reigns Supreme: Unmatched Decentralization with Record-Breaking Nakamoto Coefficient
May 05, 2024 at 09:03 pm
Humanode, a decentralized blockchain built on Polkadot, has recently surpassed all other networks in terms of decentralization based on the Nakamoto Coefficient. With 706 active validator nodes and a Nakamoto Coefficient of 236, it has overtaken Mina (155) and Polkadot (third place). The Nakamoto Coefficient measures the number of nodes required to disrupt the network, and Humanode's high score indicates its strong resistance to centralization.

Humanode Emerges as the Most Decentralized Blockchain Community with an Unprecedented Nakamoto Coefficient
London, United Kingdom - May 1st, 2024
Humanode, a Layer-1 blockchain built upon the Polkadot Software Development Kit (SDK), has ascended to the forefront of decentralization, surpassing all other blockchain networks in terms of its Nakamoto Coefficient. With an astounding 706 active validator nodes, Humanode boasts a Nakamoto Coefficient of 236, eclipsing the previous leader, Mina, which currently holds a coefficient of 155. Polkadot now occupies the third position in this ranking.
The Significance of the Nakamoto Coefficient
The Nakamoto Coefficient measures the number of node operators required to control a sufficient portion of a Layer-1 blockchain network to effectively shut it down. The higher the Nakamoto Coefficient, the more decentralized the blockchain. This metric is a crucial indicator of a blockchain's resistance to centralization and malicious attacks.
Humanode's Decentralized Architecture
"Traditional Proof-of-Stake blockchains have a tendency to centralize around the largest validators or staking protocols, which ultimately control the infrastructure," explains Victor, co-founder of Humanode. "If Lido, a major staking platform, were to experience an outage, it would raise concerns about the decentralization of Proof-of-Stake networks. They may have millions of nodes, but the real control over consensus lies in the hands of a few. We set out to change this paradigm."
Humanode's innovative architecture ensures that each individual can operate only one node, which is verified through advanced cryptobiometric technology. This ensures that all validators wield equal power. As a result, Humanode's decentralization grows proportionally with the number of human nodes.
"Imagine the Nakamoto Coefficient we can achieve when we reach 10,000 nodes or even 1 million nodes!" exclaims Victor. "This will make a coordinated attack virtually impossible. No other project will be able to claim greater decentralization than Humanode."
Humanode's Governance Protocol
Humanode is poised to unveil its governance protocol, where each human node holds a single vote. This will create the first truly democratic Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) to govern the further development of the core protocol and its ecosystem.
About Humanode
Humanode, built on Polkadot SDK as an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible Layer-1, is the first cryptobiometric blockchain that adheres to the principle of "one human, one node, one vote." Its unique facial recognition technology prevents multiple accounts and bots from exploiting retroactive airdrops, DAOs, DeFi, NFT mints, GameFi, and other blockchain applications. Within a year of its mainnet launch, Humanode has amassed over 500,000 users and 70 projects that leverage its cryptobiometric capabilities.
