Grayscale’s Mini Bitcoin Trust Begins Trading on NYSE Arca
Jul 31, 2024 at 08:49 pm
The mini version of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) launched by Grayscale Investment was listed on NYSE Arca on Wednesday.

Grayscale Investment's mini version of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (NYSE: GBTC) began trading on NYSE Arca on Wednesday.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the product last week, and it hit the market at 4 a.m. ET on Friday.
The new product is designed to give investors a cheaper way to invest in BTC.
Grayscale Launches Mini Bitcoin Trust on NYSE Arca
As part of its plan to spin off shares from GBTC, Grayscale Trust is now offering a mini version of Bitcoin trading under the ticker BTC.
The trust will issue new shares to current GBTC shareholders as GBTC transfers BTC to the mini-trust.
The launch follows Grayscale's Ethereum product, which was approved and listed on NYSE Arca earlier this year.
Grayscale's head of research, Zach Pandl, commented on the launch of the new product.
According to him, the new product is a positive development, and he expects the demand for low-cost exposure to Bitcoin to attract investors.
Furthermore, Pandl stated that Grayscale is focused on providing the best crypto exposure for its clients.
BTC Trust Launch Aligns with Economic Trends
The launch of the BTC trust also aligns with recent economic trends.
In the past few months, there has been a growing demand for products that provide exposure to digital assets.
This demand is being driven by several factors, including the strong performance of cryptocurrencies in 2023 and the increasing awareness of digital assets among mainstream investors.
The launch of the BTC trust is expected to meet this demand and provide investors with a new option for investing in Bitcoin.
