Can Gold Predict Bitcoin’s Next Bull Run?

Aug 29, 2024 at 04:25 pm

It is a sensational question right now in the crypto community. The latest post, regarding the same, made by the founder of Capriole Fund, Charles Edwards, has gained a lot of attention from the members of the crypto community.

Can Gold Predict Bitcoin’s Next Bull Run?

Recently, a post by Capriole Fund founder Charles Edwards regarding a possible correlation between gold and Bitcoin's price movements has sparked discussion within the crypto community. Lark Davis, a Bitcoin investor, shared Edwards' observation in a short video on X, inviting viewers to share their thoughts on the matter. Here's a summary of the key points highlighted in their conversation:

Edwards' analysis suggests that major trends in BTC tend to follow trends in gold by a few months, presenting a potential clue for predicting Bitcoin's future price movements.

The chart shared by Edwards indicates that gold has been surging to new highs, which, if the theory holds true, could signal an upcoming upward movement in the Bitcoin market.

At the time of writing, BTC's current price is $59,650.84, showing a 10.6% decrease over the past 30 days and a 2.0% decline in the last seven days.

The Bitcoin market began August with a green candle, closing at $65,265. Subsequently, at least four large red candlesticks formed in Bitcoin's 1-day chart.

On August 5th, the market bottomed out with a closing price of $53,987, influenced by a high volume of $437.756M.

Although a long green candlestick formed on August 8th, the volume indicator showed a lack of support, with a total of $225.652M in trades that day.

After finding support around $57,670, the market reached a high of $64,115 on August 23rd. However, two consecutive doji candlesticks after the high indicate that the market was yet to fully recover from the strong selling pressure.

Finally, two strong red candlesticks formed in the last two days, and if Edward's observation holds any truth, the Bitcoin market is setting up for a strong bullish trend. While the chart currently lacks any strong signs to confirm this possibility, there could be promising developments if the market sentiment shifts in favor of the suggested trend.
