Ghana Para Athletics Association Presents International Medals to NPC-Ghana President

The Ghana Para Athletics Association President, Foster Kwarteng, on behalf of the para-sport community and the nation, presented international medals to the President of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC-Ghana), Mr. Samson Deen.

The Rising Star: Gilbert Ampiah's First Medal

Sixteen-year-old rising star Gilbert Ampiah secured his first international medal with an impressive jump of 1.73 meters in the Men's T44 High Jump at the prestigious Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan International Para Athletics Meeting in Marrakech, Morocco.

Zinabu Issah Captures Gold and Silver

Zinabu Issah, a national record-holder and multiple medallist, captured gold in the Women's F57 Discus Throw with a record 29.25 meters and silver in the F57 Shot Put with a throw of 8.54 meters.

A Token of Gratitude and Inspiration

The medals were presented as a token of gratitude and inspiration, reaffirming the vision of building Ghana into a continental powerhouse in para-sports.

Mr. Deen's Words of Appreciation

Mr. Deen expressed his deep appreciation, adding, "I am presenting these medals on behalf of the entire nation to the president of the NPC-Ghana as a token of gratitude for the great work that he and his administration have done to ensure that we have a strong Paralympic movement in Ghana."

He commended the athletes for their excellence and encouraged all young Ghanaians living with disabilities to dream big, train hard, and aim for global podiums.

"We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase our talent on the world stage and inspire others to believe in the possibilities that lie ahead," said one of the athletes.

Serving as a Qualifier for Major Games

The Marrakech competition served as a qualifier for the upcoming Commonwealth and Paralympic Games.
