Friend.tech Airdrop and Platform Update Stumble with Glitches and Criticisms
May 03, 2024 at 11:43 am
Friend.tech, a decentralized social media platform, has launched its native token, FRIEND, alongside version two of its platform. However, the airdrop has been met with numerous issues, including users struggling to claim their tokens, a rapid price decline, and the Clubs feature not functioning as intended.

Friend.tech's Airdrop and Platform Update Face Criticism and Glitches
Introduction
Friend.tech, a popular social crypto platform, has recently launched its native token, FRIEND, alongside an update to its platform. However, the rollout has been met with significant technical issues, user frustration, and waning community support.
Airdrop Woes
The airdrop of FRIEND tokens, intended for users captured in an April snapshot, has been plagued with problems. Many users have reported an inability to claim their tokens, resulting in widespread confusion and frustration.
"I've lost all my friend.tech points and have zero FRIEND to claim," lamented one bewildered Twitter user. Another user expressed their frustration: "I'm not able to sell my FRIEND airdrop because I can't even claim it."
Platform Glitches
The launch of Friend.tech V2 has introduced a new feature called Clubs, community-owned spaces operated by key holders. However, users have encountered numerous glitches related to this feature.
Reports indicate that the platform often fails to register that users have joined a club. Additionally, newly created clubs are not appearing on the platform, hindering users from claiming their airdrops.
"This app is still not verifying the join club step," complained one Twitter user. "I'm extremely disappointed with Friendtech."
Tanking Token Price and Community Disillusionment
Compounding the technical issues, the FRIEND token has experienced a steep decline in value since its launch. According to CoinGecko, it plunged by 46% from $2.78 to $1.49 in under four hours. The community attributes this rapid drop to insufficient liquidity, with the developers allegedly only contributing $0.01 towards it.
The combined setbacks have led to a growing number of community members expressing their disillusionment with Friend.tech. Some have threatened to sell their tokens as soon as they are airdropped.
"I had high hopes for Friend.tech V2," said Twitter user mcSleuth. "But the platform remains slow and visually unappealing, and the only significant update in eight months is Clubs, which people are exploiting solely for the airdrop. It's a major disappointment."
Friend.tech's Response
Friend.tech has yet to issue a statement addressing the current issues. As such, the technical glitches, airdrop difficulties, and community concerns remain unresolved, leaving users uncertain about the future of the platform.
Conclusion
The launch of Friend.tech's native token and platform update has been marred by a series of technical issues that have severely impacted user experience. The inability to claim airdropped tokens, glitches with the Clubs feature, and the rapid decline in FRIEND's value have fostered a growing sense of dissatisfaction and frustration within the community. Friend.tech's reputation as a promising Web3 platform has been tarnished, and its future success remains uncertain until these issues are adequately addressed.
