FIL-B: New Catalyst for On-Chain Projects on Filecoin (FIL)

FIL-B introduces a public goods DX team to support builders on Filecoin (FIL), aiming to enhance the developer experience and community growth.

A new public goods developer experience (DX) team, called FIL-B, has been introduced to support builders on the Filecoin (FIL) decentralized storage network, Filecoin announced.

The FIL-B team is now responsible for empowering builders to succeed in building on-chain solutions on Filecoin’s decentralized storage network, providing comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and tooling that developers are already familiar with to simplify the process of starting new projects. They have also contributed heavily to the Filecoin documentation and started the FIL-Builders repository for user-friendly starter kits, like the On-chain Payment dApp kit.

As projects mature, FIL-B collaborates closely with teams to provide deeper technical support, and the team works on a public board of identified DX challenges and actively collaborates with Filecoin development teams to unblock these issues.

FIL-B also acts as a steward for the Filecoin Ethereum Virtual Machine (FEVM), ensuring seamless EVM compatibility and collaborating with Lotus maintainers, ETH RPC providers on Filecoin, and third-party integrations to optimize the developer experience. Recently, FIL-B launched an ETH RPC benchmarking tool to help builders monitor ETH RPC methods.

The FIL-B team is also committed to growing the Filecoin builder community, fostering meaningful connections among developers, and engaging with the community through the @FILBuilders Twitter account, the Filecoin Discord, and other platforms to provide updates and highlight builder projects. FIL-B also partners with the Filecoin Foundation and other organizations to organize developer programs and events, like the Fil Dev Summit and Filecoin Orbit.

The FIL-B team was spun out of former Developer Experience teams from Protocol Labs, the R&D lab that launched Filecoin. The team brings deep expertise and community connections to FIL-B and is part of the public goods layer of the Protocol Labs Network.
