The Fantom Foundation and Sonic Labs Team Up with RPC Solution Provider Alchemy to Give the Opera Crypto Network a Boost

The Fantom Foundation and Sonic Labs Team Up with RPC Solution Provider Alchemy to Give the Opera Crypto Network a Boost

The Opera crypto network is set to receive a boost thanks to a collaboration between the Fantom Foundation, Sonic Labs, and RPC solution provider Alchemy.

Opera developers and users will be able to integrate Alchemy’s endpoints to enhance transaction scalability and security. The partnership will also extend benefits to Sonic, with RPC perks set to roll out upon the mainnet’s launch.

The Web development platform Alchemy will notably integrate RPC (Remote Call Procedure) support for Fantom’s L1 blockchain, aiming to accelerate operations. As a result, Opera insiders and the crypto community at large will be able to utilize Alchemy’s public and private RPC endpoints free of charge.

This integration will ultimately enable faster transaction execution and a more stable and secure platform for developing decentralized applications.

Endpoints essentially serve as specific URL addresses or locations from which a particular function can be performed on a blockchain. In practical terms, they facilitate communication between the cryptographic network and dapps, providing a simple and intuitive interface for commands.

Alchemy’s role in this partnership is to ensure the speedy and reliable processing of transactions and queries. Moreover, its involvement enhances Opera’s reputation, considering that the Web3 infrastructure contributor is renowned for its industry standing.

On the flip side, the RPC provider is expanding its user base and supporting a new crypto ecosystem that is continuously growing. In turn, this enables Alchemy to bolster its presence and become the Web3 industry’s largest infrastructure provider.

The partnership between Fantom and Alchemy will significantly bolster the development of the Opera crypto network and support the upcoming Ethereum Sonic layer-2.

However, the announcement also reveals that the Web3 infrastructure provider will offer its RPC integration on a new network being launched by Sonic Labs.

This new infrastructure, which is set to arrive later this year, will share similarities with Opera but will be managed by a separate team with a distinct governance structure. The launch of this network is driven by the aspiration to integrate into the Ethereum ecosystem with an infrastructure capable of operating independently.

Sonic is expected to be significantly faster and more secure than Opera, presenting a more favorable environment for app development.

Beyond offering RPC support, the partnership will also see Alchemy allocate credits from its Sonic Labs Innovator Fund. Enterprise customers on Sonic will be eligible for up to $5k in credits, with additional credit programs also being rolled out as part of the broader incentive scheme.

These initiatives collectively aim to stimulate community involvement and pave the way for a successful launch. Furthermore, such partnerships are critical for the long-term development of the next crypto network.

On the topic of incentives and development, it is worth mentioning that the Fantom Foundation has established a $120 million fund to support Sonic’s growth.

Sourced from Fantom’s treasury, the fund will use the crypto FTM as its basis and support the transition to the new L2 Sonic network.

Earlier this year, Sonic Labs also closed a $10 million funding round, which was led by Hashed.
