Fantasy Top Expands Beyond Ethereum's Layer-2 Blast Network

Ethereum-based non-fungible token (NFT) game Fantasy Top has announced its integration with the newly launched layer-one blockchain Monad. This development will enable users on the Monad network to claim a set of 15 cards, compete for rewards, and stand a chance to secure spots on an exclusive whitelist, which currently boasts over 5,000 entries.

The announcement highlighted that the first competition on the Monad blockchain will commence soon, giving participants a limited duration to familiarize themselves with the mechanics and build their decks accordingly.

Fantasy Top was initially launched on the Ethereum layer-2 network Blast. Now, expanding its presence, Monad marks the second blockchain to host the game. Being an EVM-compatible chain, Monad ensures that smart contracts originally designed for Ethereum can be executed on Monad with minimal or no modifications. This compatibility remains a common practice in the industry, considering Ethereum’s Solidity programming language has the most extensive developer base specializing in smart contract development.

Unlike conventional fantasy sports games that operate within the real-world realm of athletes, Fantasy Top operates uniquely in the crypto ecosystem. The game features prominent influencers from the X platform — formerly known as Twitter. These influencers, referred to as “heroes” within the game, accumulate points based on their social media engagement rather than traditional sports metrics such as goals or assists.

Each competition cycle allows players to strategically include hero cards representing well-known crypto influencers in their lineup. The recent expansion onto the Monad blockchain will introduce additional hero cards into circulation, enhancing gameplay options and competition dynamics.

Fantasy Top emphasized that the Monad expansion introduces a highly immersive experience, unveiling never-before-seen hero cards and offering players opportunities to earn whitelist spots for upcoming NFT collections set to launch on the Monad mainnet.

Among the latest additions to the game’s hero lineup are well-known crypto personalities such as Khallid4397, internbrah, kryptobaby777, and JohnWRichKid. Since its debut in May 2024, Fantasy Top has achieved significant growth, registering over $21 million in weekly trading volume and attracting approximately 31,000 users shortly after launch, as reported by industry sources.

With the transition to Monad, Fantasy Top continues to enhance its offerings, providing a dynamic and engaging gaming experience while leveraging blockchain technology to innovate the fantasy sports genre.
