When Daniel Cormier weighed in on Conor McGregor's political aspirations
Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor hinted at a potential retirement while revealing his ambitions to be the president of Ireland. UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier shared his thoughts on the matter, calling the Irishman's political moves "ridiculous."
On an episode of ESPN's Good Guy / Bad Guy, with Chael Sonnen, 'DC' had this to say:
"Conor is running for president. I feel like he's retiring to run for president. I'm not sure if you guys saw that. I don't know if he's running for president or prime minister. I don't know how they do it over there. But Conor McGregor is running for office."
Sonnen then interjected, "He's running for pope."
Cormier continued: "I'm not sure what Conor is running for, but he's definitely running for something. And I think it's over in Ireland. And I saw some people get upset with Conor because he's talking about Bitcoin and an Irish Bitcoin standard. I don't know what that is, but apparently, it's a good thing. I don't know what the hell he's talking about. It's like, Conor, just relax. We're trying to watch some fights here."
