EY Ushers in Revolutionary Contract Management with Blockchain Integration

New York, New York - March 8, 2023 - Ernst & Young (EY), a global leader in the audit and accounting industry, has unveiled a groundbreaking innovation in business contract management. The company has introduced a solution that seamlessly integrates contracts into a public blockchain, leveraging advanced zero-knowledge technology to safeguard sensitive business information.

Dubbed OpsChain Contract Manager, this cutting-edge service operates on the Ethereum blockchain, utilizing the efficient and cost-effective Polygon Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network for actual implementation.

"The concept of leveraging public blockchains for business operations is not novel, but we are now witnessing a practical application that addresses real-world concerns regarding privacy and cost," elucidated Paul Brody, EY's global blockchain leader since 2016. In a recent interview, Brody elaborated on his vision for the future of blockchain technology for large enterprises, highlighting the advantages of public blockchains over private ones in terms of privacy.

In conjunction with Nightfall, EY has also developed Starlight, a cutting-edge zero-knowledge compiler that employs advanced hashing techniques to transform existing smart contracts into private variants. These innovations align with Brody's vision that enterprise blockchain applications will reap significant benefits from the utilization of public blockchains such as Ethereum and, by extension, Polygon.

EY's strategic adoption of Polygon PoS not only reduces costs but also paves the way for an eventual transition from Nightfall to the Ethereum mainnet and a future layer 3 in the next system update.

"This innovative solution not only enhances transparency in business dealings but also leverages existing robust infrastructure, substantially reducing costs for businesses," Brody emphasized.

Business users have increasingly embraced Polygon due to its exceptionally low transaction costs, a critical factor for enterprise-scale applications.

"We are thrilled to introduce OpsChain Contract Manager to our clients, offering them a game-changing tool for managing contracts securely and efficiently," said David Kennett, EY Global Assurance Technology Leader. "Our collaboration with Polygon has enabled us to create a solution that meets the unique needs of large organizations, delivering enhanced privacy, transparency, and cost savings."

EY's blockchain expertise and Polygon's scalable infrastructure create a compelling proposition for enterprises seeking to revolutionize their contract management processes.
