Ethereum (ETH) Crashes Below $2,000, Losing 5% Overnight

ETH had a steeper decline than BTC, slipping below the $2,000 barrier after a broader market downturn. The token had not yet achieved the promised breakout, and it now trades at 0.022 BTC. In fiat terms, ETH was trading at $1,917.21, close to its three-month lower range.
ETH sentiment remains neutral, and open interest has fallen to $9.9B. Derivative traders had built up some liquidity at the $2,040 and $2,100 levels, but ETH may yet dip as low as the $1,800 range to fully liquidate long positions, before returning for a short squeeze.
