Ether (ETH) ETF Applications Are on the Table, Waiting for a Green Signal from the US SEC
May 27, 2024 at 07:50 pm
If the US SEC wants to approve ETF applications, it must consider crypto a digital asset rather than a security. Ether ETF is on the table

The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) must classify cryptocurrency as a digital asset rather than a security in order to approve applications for exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Ether ETF is awaiting approval.
The market has begun speculating on the upcoming ETFs and their chances of receiving the Commission's approval.
To begin with, the community has been eagerly awaiting applications for Ether ETFs. The agency approved applications for Bitcoin ETFs in early January of this year (2024), sparking speculation that it was only a matter of time before Ether ETFs also received the green light.
There is a minor delay, and crypto enthusiasts will now have to exercise patience. The anticipation, however, has had a positive impact on the token itself.
After experiencing an upswing of 3.905 over the last 24 hours, ETH was last observed changing hands at over $3,900. If favorable conditions persist and the hype does not diminish, Ether is anticipated to cross the psychological threshold of $4,000 within the next two days. It will likely be dancing around $5,000 by the year's conclusion if it achieves the goal.
Other crypto assets may see ETF applications filed by BlackRock, BanEck, and Ark Invest. Three elements will be taken into account: market valuation, liquidity, and the perception of being a digital asset. Dogecoin, due to its status as a digital commodity, stands a better chance of having its applications approved before the Ether ETF enters the market.
This speculation has had a favorable effect on DOGE, which has seen a 9.82% increase in token valuation over the last seven days. DOGE is currently trading at $0.1653, down 3.92% over the last 24 hours. It has been favorably impacted, especially ever since the United States Court determined that it is not a financial security during the Commission's legal battle.
BNB and Avalanche may encounter difficulties due to their simpler categorization as securities; both include staking capabilities, making it easier for the SEC to classify them as such. Another issue arises due to BNB's association with Binance.
In the past, Binance has had disagreements with the relevant authorities.
If the SEC approves Solana ETFs, it will also approve Cardano ETFs due to their similarities, according to analysts.
Clear tokenomics are crucial for the respective ecosystems to get their ETF applications approved, which is interesting. The SEC will concentrate on upcoming ETFs, particularly Solana. Approval for the SOL ETF could pave the way for ETF applications for BNB, Ripple (XRP), Avalanche, and Cardano.
