The essential social platforms to stay informed about crypto

Social media platforms are the primary source of information for 73.8% of the crypto community, according to a recent analysis. The study examined social media usage patterns among crypto enthusiasts to identify the most popular platforms and their role in disseminating news and analysis.

The analysis revealed a clear preference for X (formerly Twitter), Telegram, and YouTube among crypto enthusiasts. These three platforms collectively accounted for 84% of the community's social media presence.

X, with 41.7% of users, emerged as the most popular platform for discussions and updates on crypto. Despite a loss of $13 billion following Musk’s acquisition, X remains a crucial source of information, often cited for industry developments.

Telegram and YouTube followed closely with 21.5% and 20.8% of users, respectively. These platforms offered discussion spaces and educational videos that attracted many crypto enthusiasts. Telegram, in particular, was appreciated for its real-time discussion groups, while YouTube was a major source of tutorials and analyses.

Discord and Reddit were also used by the crypto community, although to a lesser extent, with 6.8% and 4.5% of users, respectively. These platforms were often considered complementary, offering more in-depth discussions and specialized communities.

The analysis also highlighted the overwhelming preference for social media over traditional news sites as a source of information among the crypto community. An impressive 73.8% of respondents reported getting their information primarily through social media platforms.

Among the social media sources, X was the most popular, followed by YouTube and Telegram. This trend demonstrated the central role played by social media in disseminating news and analyses about cryptocurrencies.

As an example of the massive crypto communities on social media platforms, MetaFight reached 140,000 users on Telegram. These dynamic digital spaces offered a unique environment for crypto enthusiasts to stay informed, connect with others, and participate in discussions.
