Enso Upgrade Activates on Shindo Network, Improving Performance and Transaction Capacity

May 26, 2025 at 08:12 pm

The upgrade will activate at block height 16,850,000 on May 27 at about 15:55 UTC. This upgrade marks a key step toward improving network performance, security, and scalability.

Enso Upgrade Activates on Shindo Network, Improving Performance and Transaction Capacity

The technical updates in the Enso Upgrade are designed to streamline network operations and performance. Block finality now has a target of less than one second, helping to secure transactions more quickly and boosting validation throughput. Transaction capacity increases by thirty percent, reaching approximately thirteen thousand transactions per second. This supports on-chain trading, decentralized application activity, and cross-chain asset transfers within the network. Developers will also experience less latency when building, testing, and deploying new applications on Shindo Network. Validators have smoothly upgraded their nodes to integrate these enhancements, ensuring the continued reliability of the network.

A major upgrade effect is lower Shindo gas consumption for EVM-based transactions and smart contracts. A new state pruning mechanism reduces storage needs by about forty percent across chain data. The Shido PoS Consensus version two update improves performance in selecting validators and maintaining network resilience during disruptions. Together, these optimizations are expected to decrease Shindo gas consumption by about thirty percent for users. Lower transaction fees could encourage more frequent trading activity and spur higher volumes of contract and application deployments. These cost savings will translate into better experiences for traders and decentralized application users.

On the security side, the upgrade focuses on strengthening Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol safeguards for cross-chain transfers. IBC version eight point seven point zero introduces increased resilience against partition and data integrity issues. These updates help to protect user funds and ensure the smooth transferability of assets between compatible blockchains. Improved partition resistance helps to maintain network operations even during unexpected downtime or congestion events. Overall, the protocol updates aim to mitigate potential threats and enhance the network's overall reliability and resilience. Users engaging in cross-chain operations will benefit from these new protective measures and safeguards.

Updates to the WasmVM and Cosmos SDK versions aim to improve developer experiences on the network. These enhancements will streamline the process for new projects and integrations to join and build on Shindo Network. More than one hundred active projects are already developing and deploying on the network's updated infrastructure and tools. The twelve native decentralized applications will benefit directly from improved runtime stability and overall performance. Tooling updates will help developers to monitor, debug, and optimize applications more effectively. Ecosystem support initiatives are focused on long-term growth and sustainable network participation by all stakeholders.

Finally, a new token burn mechanism is designed to adjust the circulating supply in response to network activity. When activity increases beyond predefined thresholds, the system will automatically burn a portion of the outstanding token supply. This feature helps to mitigate inflationary pressures and promote scarcity over time. Higher usage leads to more tokens being burned, creating a deflationary dynamic on the network. This mechanism aims to impact token availability without guaranteeing any specific price increases over time. Market factors and user behavior will still drive long-term token value and economic outcomes. Users and stakeholders should track burn rates over time to understand potential shifts in the token supply.

This announcement serves as a snapshot of some of the key technical changes included in the upcoming Enso Upgrade. For a comprehensive overview of the upgrade's scope and implications, please refer to the official documentation and proposals available on the Shindo Network website and community platforms. As the activation approaches, stakeholders are encouraged to contribute their insights and feedback to ensure a successful transition and optimal integration of the new functionalities.
