On May 26, 2025, the DOT/USD 4-hour chart formed a bullish flag pattern

The DOT/USD 4-hour chart displayed a bullish flag pattern, often indicating a continuation signal.

A bullish flag appears when the price rallies sharply, consolidates downward within parallel lines, and then breaks out upward.

The chart showed DOT retracing inside a downward-sloping channel following a strong rally. It now traded at $4.56.

If the flag confirms, the price could rise 38% from the current level to approximately $6.29.

The 50-period Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $4.662 currently acted as dynamic resistance. A breakout above this level may validate the bullish flag and activate the target.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) sat at 45.65, nearly neutral, while the average volume remained steady at 121.36K. This setup suggested buyers may return if DOT closes above the flag’s upper trendline.

A successful confirmation would match the flagpole height from the initial rally, projecting DOT toward the $6.29 mark without needing new support zones.

Hydration Parachain Speeds Up Transactions With 6-Second Blocks

The Hydration parachain, built on the Polkadot network, has now activated asynchronous backing. This technical upgrade reduced the average block time from the usual range to just 6 seconds. Asynchronous backing allows blocks to be prepared and validated in a more flexible way, without waiting for strict synchronization between validators.

With this faster block time, the Hydration parachain now handles transactions more quickly. This change improves user experience and helps the network scale better during high activity periods. Developers and users can now expect faster confirmations and smoother interaction with decentralized applications (dApps) on the chain.

This move aligns with Polkadot’s broader goals to improve scalability and performance across its parachain ecosystem. Shorter block times also help build stronger competition with other Layer 1 platforms offering similar speeds.

Polkadot Eyes Runtime Version 1.5.0 But Faces Rejection Call

Meanwhile, the Polkadot community is discussing a new proposal for a runtime upgrade to version 1.5.0. This update focuses on technical changes, including modifications to the dry-run functionality. The dry-run feature allows developers to simulate transactions without making real changes to the blockchain. The update aims to adjust how dry-runs behave under certain runtime conditions.

However, the original author of the proposal has advised against voting in favor. He shared that certain changes in the code may not work as intended, and warned that approval could cause problems in the short term. Because of this, he recommended that voters reject the proposal for now.

The Polkadot community is still reviewing the update. Voters can either approve or reject the proposed upgrade through the on-chain governance system. Until then, version 1.5.0 remains under review and will not go live unless it receives majority support.
