Dorsey Predicts Bitcoin Will Skyrocket to $1 Million by 2030
May 11, 2024 at 03:19 am
Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey predicts that Bitcoin (BTC) will reach a staggering $1 million by 2030, a 100x increase from its current price. He attributes this optimistic forecast to the ecosystem's collaborative nature, the halving effect on miner rewards, and the launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs, which increase demand while limiting supply. Dorsey's company, Block, has significantly invested in BTC and plans to allocate 10% of its monthly Bitcoin-related gross profit to purchasing more BTC. However, Block is currently under investigation by federal prosecutors for alleged compliance violations related to transactions processed for customers in sanctioned countries.

Jack Dorsey Projects Bitcoin to Soar Beyond $1 Million by 2030 Amidst Positive Market Sentiment
Jack Dorsey, the visionary co-founder of Twitter, has expressed unwavering optimism in Bitcoin's future, predicting a meteoric rise in its value to a staggering $1 million within the next six years. During an interview with journalist Mike Solana on Pirate Wires, Dorsey conveyed his belief that Bitcoin's price will explode by more than 100 times, surpassing the seven-figure mark by 2030.
"I don't know. Over... at least a million," Dorsey quipped when asked about Bitcoin's potential to reach $1 million in the coming decade. "I do think it hits that number and goes beyond."
Dorsey's bullish outlook is underpinned by several factors, including the recent recovery of Bitcoin from its lows below $57,000 and a renewed belief in its long-term appreciation. He emphasizes the cathartic effects of the halving of miner rewards in April and the successful launch of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The reduction in the issuance of new BTC through halving, coupled with the increased demand from ETFs, has placed upward pressure on the coin's supply and price.
Beyond these technical factors, Dorsey places great value on the collaborative nature of the Bitcoin ecosystem and its ability to incentivize collective efforts to improve the network. He describes Bitcoin as "a fascinating ecosystem and movement," where every contribution made to its development benefits the entire ecosystem and ultimately drives up its value.
Dorsey's long-standing commitment to Bitcoin extends beyond his personal investments. As the head of Block, the financial services firm formerly known as Square, he has spearhead substantial investments in the flagship cryptocurrency and introduced innovative products such as Bitcoin wallets and a global BTC mining system. As of today, Block holds approximately 8,027 BTC, worth roughly $4.9 billion at current prices.
Furthermore, Block has recently announced plans to allocate 10% of its monthly Bitcoin-related gross profit to purchasing more BTC, with the intention of continuing this strategy through 2024. This move underscores Block's ongoing commitment to Bitcoin and its belief in its long-term potential.
However, Block has also faced scrutiny from federal prosecutors. According to a report by NBC News, prosecutors are investigating the firm following allegations of "widespread and yearslong compliance lapses" in its payment arms, Square and Cash App. Documents submitted to prosecutors by a former Block employee reportedly indicate that Square and Cash App processed thousands of transactions for customers in sanctioned countries such as Russia, Cuba, and Venezuela.
These investigations do not appear to have dampened Dorsey's enthusiasm for Bitcoin. He remains a vocal advocate for the cryptocurrency and its transformative potential. As the industry continues to evolve and mature, Dorsey's unwavering belief in Bitcoin serves as a testament to its enduring appeal and the belief that it has the potential to revolutionize the financial landscape.
