Donald Trump Just Made His Boldest Crypto Statement Yet: “I Want Crypto.”

Donald Trump Just Made His Boldest Crypto Statement Yet: “I Want Crypto.”

Donald Trump just made his boldest crypto statement yet: “I want crypto.”

As Bitcoin (BTC) regains momentum and China’s digital asset ambitions grow, the president is calling on the U.S. to lead the revolution—or risk letting another nation take control.

Trump: ‘Crypto Is Important, Popular, and Hot’

In a fiery appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, Trump declared: “I want crypto. It’s important, it’s popular, and it’s hot.”

The former president was reacting to a question about the Biden administration’s shifting stance on crypto. Trump criticized the early crackdown on crypto companies. But now, with the election approaching, he claimed Biden is trying to use crypto as a political bargaining chip.

This narrative aligns with Trump’s broader strategy. He's positioning himself as the pro-innovation, pro-crypto candidate—especially as crypto regulation in the U.S. becomes a hot-button issue.

TRUMP Token Scandal Heats Up

A recent controversy adds fuel to the fire. Trump’s meme coin, $TRUMP, jumped over 50% in private trades after an announcement about a private dinner invite for the top 220 token holders.

But critics are calling it a “pay-to-play” scandal—suggesting the move was to retain the token price. A report by Blockware highlighted the scam potential of such coins.

However, Trump himself quickly denied any involvement and claimed he'll be donating his entire presidential salary to charity.

“I haven't even looked at it. I have no interest in it. They can do whatever they want with it. I'm going to be making a large donation—my entire presidential salary—to a charity of my choice.”

Despite his denial, two U.S. lawmakers are demanding answers about the $TRUMP token and its connection to a fundraiser for Trump’s 2024 campaign.

Is A Second Trump Token Coming?

Meanwhile, rumors are spreading rapidly on X (formerly Twitter). Some traders speculate that Trump may be launching a second crypto token. Among the possibilities are WLFI (World Liberty Financial) and TRUTCHCOIN.

These hints are allegedly derived from documents pertaining to Trump’s World Liberty Project. The timing is suspicious—altcoins dropped by 5–10% today, and many suspect insider moves are connecting Trump's next crypto play to this narrative shift.

Trump's Crypto Playbook: Geopolitics Meets Markets

It's still unclear whether Trump personally holds any crypto. But one thing is certain—his pro-crypto messaging is part of a broader political strategy.

With inflation concerns, rising tariffs, and investor fear on the rise, Trump is positioning crypto as a patriotic solution. It's a key part of his broader narrative about U.S. economic dominance and the threat of China.

In his own words, the message is clear: “Lead the crypto revolution... or lose it to China.”
