Cryptocurrency’s ‘active addresses’ metric reveals where the top coins currently stand

Revealed: Dogecoin & Shiba Inu Active User Count Compared To Others

In a recent X post, market intelligence platform IntoTheBlock shared an infographic revealing the standing of several top cryptocurrencies in the market based on their daily active addresses.

An address is considered “active” when it engages in any type of transaction activity. Both the receiver and sender in a transfer become active during the transaction moment.

The unique count of active addresses can be viewed as the daily user count on the network. Hence, the metric’s value indicates whether the blockchain is experiencing high traffic at the moment.

The chart below showcases this indicator’s current value for some of the top assets in the market.

The infographic shows that Dogecoin is in the middle of this list, with 56,980 active addresses per day. However, Shiba Inu has far fewer daily users at the moment, ranking second to last on the list with 6,770 active addresses.

Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), and Tron (TRX) are all positioned above DOGE and by a significant margin. Notably, TRX is the most active network on the list by far, with its 2.26 million for the metric being quadruple the next best, BTC.

TRX’s massive daily active user count indicates that the blockchain is preferred for transactions over the other top cryptocurrencies on the list.

In the comments section of the X post, some users inquired about Solana (SOL)’s absence from the list. According to the analytics firm, their instruments do not yet support the SOL network.

However, IntoTheBlock mentioned that data from another source suggests a daily active address count of 1.5 million for Solana. With triple the active users of Bitcoin, this would place the coin second to TRX and push Dogecoin and Shiba Inu down another spot.

Naturally, the high value of this indicator for the SOL network would indicate that the cryptocurrency is also a top preference among users for blockchain-related activities.

It seems that while the memecoins have managed to gain popularity among investors and inflate their market caps, they have yet to catch up in terms of network-related metrics like this one.

DOGE Price

Dogecoin has now dropped to $0.157, having seen its price experience a decline of over 3% in the past 24 hours.
