Dogecoin (DOGE) Could Be on the Verge of a New Uptrend, Santiment Data Shows
Dec 12, 2024 at 08:56 pm
Mean Dollar Invested Age is an indicator that measures the average age of each dollar invested in a crypto. This index is similar to Mean Coin Age, which calculates the average age of tokens in circulation.

Cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE), known for its Shiba Inu dog inspiration, might be on the cusp of a new uptrend, according to recent analysis.
The iconic crypto, which began as a joke in 2013, has garnered attention for a positive sign that is often overlooked by investors, hinting at a possible significant increase in DOGE’s value in the days ahead.
Mean Dollar Invested Age is an indicator that measures the average age of each dollar invested in a crypto. This index is similar to Mean Coin Age, which calculates the average age of tokens in circulation. Using on-chain data, Mean Coin Age converts coins into their USD value at the time of their last movement.
According to Santiment, the five leading cryptos – BTC, XRP, DOGE, ETH and LINK – all recorded a decline in their average age of invested dollars. However, this decline was particularly marked for BTC, XRP and DOGE.
This indicates that older, stagnant wallets in the crypto market are putting their coins back into circulation. This increases network activity and can be interpreted in two ways: either HODLers are selling their coins, or new capital is entering the market, buying these dormant coins and thus reducing the average age.
Dogecoin in particular stood out for the speed and magnitude of this decline, suggesting increased activity and a possible price rise ahead. Historically, this trend has been a key indicator of the continuation of the bull markets of 2017 and 2021.
While some might be skeptical of XRP’s future in light of the SEC’s lawsuit against Ripple Labs, XRP has managed to stay afloat and even thrive in the bear market. As surprising as it may seem, DOGE has also outperformed BTC in 2022, despite being one of the memecoins that crashed the hardest in 2022.
Now, both cryptos are in the spotlight once again, thanks to a recent analysis that might be hinting at good news for both tokens. Santiment's analysis reveals that XRP and DOGE are showing promising signs of activity that could lead to a price increase.
According to Santiment, the recent trends in XRP and DOGE suggest that both tokens could be headed for a price increase. However, investors should proceed with caution and continue to monitor key indicators to make informed decisions.
