Democrats Are Expressing Growing Dissatisfaction With U.S. President Donald Trump’s Administration

Democrats are expressing growing dissatisfaction with U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration
Democrats are becoming increasingly frustrated with U.S. President Donald Trump's administration, and one senator from Georgia said at a town hall that Trump's latest meme coin gala event "rises to the level of an impeachable offense."
On Friday, Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-GA, told town hall attendees that he favors impeaching Trump, according to NBC. The lawmaker stated his position during the event, adding that the president's actions warrant such a move. Ossoff went on to highlight that the president "has already exceeded any prior standard for impeachment."
What offense did Trump commit? Well, he's been inviting the top TRUMP holders to a meme coin dinner.
"I saw just 48 hours ago, he is granting audiences to people who buy his meme coin. When the sitting president of the United States is selling access for what are effectively payments directly to him. There is no question that that rises to the level of an impeapable offense," Ossoff said.
The TRUMP meme coin dinner is a private gala set for May 22 at Trump's golf club, open only to the top 220 holders of the TRUMP token, granting them exclusive access to the president as well as a VIP White House tour. News of the event increased the coin's price by over 65%, sparking ethical concerns and calls to investigate potential "pay-to-play" corruption as the president's access is being sold through the token.
This isn't the first time Trump has faced impeachment, as it occurred two times during his first term. Both times, Trump was acquitted by the Senate and remained in office for the rest of his first term. And in the early months of his second term, a number of Democratic leaders are once again calling for his removal.
The first lawmaker in Trump's second term to announce that they were filing articles of impeachment is Rep. Al Green, D-TX, who said he was filing the articles following Trump's statements on Gaza.
"I, like many others, am troubled by the president's recent statements on the conflict in Gaza. In my view, these statements could be interpreted as inciting violence and hatred, which is something that I, as a preacher's son, find deeply concerning," Green said in a statement.
Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-MD, has also said that he would be open to pursuing impeachment if there was bipartisan support. When asked if he would support impeaching Trump for "illegal executive overreach," Raskin replied, "Find me two Republicans, and I’ll get to work tomorrow."
Similarly, Ossoff said that any impeachment effort would likely fail without strong support. When a town hall attendee stated that Trump should be impeached, Ossoff replied:
"The only way to achieve what you want to achieve is to have a majority United States House of Representatives. And believe me, I’m working on it every single day, every single day."
