Berachain (BERA), founded in 2021, is a Layer 1 blockchain with Proof-of-Liquidity consensus, ensuring security and liquidity while maintaining full Ethereum compatibility. Berachain launched its mainnet on February 6, together with a $632 million BERA airdrop to eligible users. Around 79 million BERA tokens were distributed, primarily to Bong Bears NFT holders. BERA serves as the network’s gas and staking token. Berachain employs a Proof-of-Liquidity consensus to enhance both security and liquidity. Token allocations also include funds for community initiatives, ecosystem R&D, and institutional investors.
