Bitcoin, recognized as the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, experienced a notable increase of approximately two percent on Monday.

Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, rose about 2% on Monday as positive US producer price index (PPI) data shifted настроению among crypto investors.
During the day, Bitcoin was trading at around $64,260 on international exchanges and about $64,826 on Indian exchanges.
Price Movements in Major Cryptocurrencies
Ether, the second-largest cryptocurrency, also rose. It was priced at around $2,521 on Indian exchanges and $2,526 internationally, as per recent data.
Other cryptocurrencies that rose included USD Coin, Tron, Binance Coin, Near Protocol, and Cardano.
Solana, Polkadot, Ripple, Bitcoin SV, Flex, and Stellar were among those that declined.
As of the latest updates, the total crypto market cap surged about 2.08% to stand at around $2.24 trillion.
Markets desk at CoinDCX highlighted the bullish sentiment in crypto markets, largely attributed to the encouraging PPI data from the US last week.
They anticipate Bitcoin to target fresh highs at $2,330, with resistance noted at $2,550.
Retail Investor Interest, Market Volatility, and Fraudulent Activities
There is a rising interest in cryptocurrencies among retail investors, especially in the backdrop of the market volatility and a parallel increase in fraudulent activities that pose significant threats to investors.
Recent months have seen a sharp increase in scam incidents related to crypto, leading to substantial losses for both individual investors and companies operating in this space.
A recent report by the Board of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) noted that despite the crypto market valuation being below $1 trillion in 2022, retail investors have a strong interest in this asset class, which is evident across both developed and emerging markets.
The report adds that many young retail investors are turning to unauthorized and dubious information sources for investment advice, exposing themselves to a high degree of financial risk.
In response to these challenges, regulatory frameworks are being developed in various countries to enhance the safety and integrity of the cryptocurrency market.
