The 5 Best Cryptocurrencies to Buy and Hold in 2023
Dec 17, 2024 at 05:35 pm
The cryptocurrency markets look primed for an explosive rally over the next 12 months as large-cap tokens such as Ethereum and Ripple have established hugely bullish momentum in recent weeks.

Cryptocurrency markets could be set for an explosive rally over the next 12 months, with several large-cap tokens establishing bullish momentum in recent weeks.
To outpace these giants in 2025, investors should consider aligning their portfolios with the most promising current trends. Experts have highlighted Chainlink, Sui, and the up-and-coming GameFi protocol Rollblock ($RBLK) as tokens to watch during the final parabolic stages of this bull run.
With rising adoption curves, holders of these tokens could enjoy staggering gains of up to 50x before the final blow-off top.
Chainlink ($LINK) Sees Trump Project Allocate Heavily
Chainlink is well-positioned to benefit from the surging crypto market, having established itself as the leading Oracle platform in the crypto space over multiple cycles.
Currently ranked 12th in the CoinMarketCap top 20 crypto index, Chainlink has surged an astonishing 117% in the last 30 days to reach a price of $30.12. This has boosted the Chainlink market cap to $18.86 billion.
Chainlink has recently returned to the crypto spotlight following news that Donald Trump’s DeFi platform, World Liberty Financial, is now acquiring Chainlink tokens and will also be utilizing the Oracle platform’s real-time price feeds offering this year.
Wallets attached to the Trump family project are now holding $2 million worth of Chainlink, along with several other leading DeFi tokens.
Sui ($SUI) Sets Sights On Solana’s Lead
Sui has enjoyed a stellar week of trading, having pumped by 10% in the last 7 days to bring the Sui price up to $4.67. This gives Sui a position at number 15 in the crypto rankings.
Sui is widely regarded as the leading Solana killer in the crypto space, as it competes for a similar use case. Sui has been hitting new highs consistently recently, although concerns are growing around huge numbers of Sui tokens that will soon be hitting the market thanks to a token unlock on January 1st.
This will see 64.1 million Sui tokens being added to the Sui circulating supply in only a few weeks, which could potentially result in significant selling pressure as early-stage Sui investors lock in some profits.
Ethereum ($ETH) Battles With $4k As ETFs Ramp Up
Ethereum is still struggling to break the $4k level, falling by 2% this week to reach $3.91k. Ethereum is the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, which currently sits at a gargantuan $472.3 billion.
Ethereum is also the only cryptocurrency apart from Bitcoin to boast its own dedicated ETF fund in the US, which recently saw massive inflows as more and more institutional investors pivoted to make an allocation to the DeFi ecosystem.
Ethereum ETFs recorded cumulative inflows of $2.2 billion recently, helping to propel the Ethereum price in recent weeks with heavy buying pressure. Many Ethereum analysts are still targeting the $10k level for 2025, making Ethereum an easy 2.5x from here.
Ripple ($XRP) Rallies On SEC Clean Sweep
Ripple has lost 9.2% in the last 7 days of trading, as the Ripple price settled at $2.36 after a hugely bullish month of price action. In the last 30 days, Ripple has added more than 165% to its value, sending Ripple flying up the crypto top 10 to 4th position. The Ripple market cap is currently more than $135 billion.
Ripple surged violently upon news that the SEC will soon see a change in leadership, as current chair Gary Gensler will be stepping down in January.
This has caused many crypto experts to forecast an imminent end to the SEC-Ripple Labs lawsuit that has been dragging the token down for some years now. The recent release of the dollar-backed RLUSD stablecoin is also hugely bullish for Ripple, as it will bolster institutional investors’ confidence in the speedy Layer
