Crypto markets are heating up again in 2025, and traders are looking for the best ways to capitalize on the crypto momentum.
Well-known analyst Altcoin Sherpa shared two practical strategies for navigating the current altcoin bull run. His approach offers insight into how investors can position themselves, depending on their risk appetite and trading style.
In his recent X post, the analyst broke down the pros and cons of chasing high-momentum "runners" versus patiently accumulating undervalued coins.
“[1] Chasing 'runners.' This is usually a hyper-risky strategy but also offers the best risk-REWARD in a bull mkt. Especially when the 'runners' have decent volume and liquidity (like POPCAT, MOODENG, or AVA). Buy the dips and ride the wave as long as it lasts. These probably keep going.
[2] Buying 'undervalued' coins. Many coins are still in the shadows (CEX AI tokens, Arbitrum, metaverse, ZK, or gaming). You get great entries, and if the entire market continues, these coins will pump eventually. Low mcap = high % gains.brings up interesting topics.
This second method is more suited for long-term holders who can afford to wait. The downside is that many of these coins have low liquidity, making it difficult to enter or exit positions. Sometimes they don't even really pump. Without a new story or technical upgrade, it's hard for older coins to maintain demand.
Both methods can be successful, and the optimal strategy will depend on your individual investor style. I prefer method 1 as a trader. But if you're a long-term holder, you might have more success with method 2. You can buy a basket of spot RWA coins and just sit on them. Best of luck!
Don't forget to trade responsibly and never invest more than you can afford to lose. And always do your own research before making any investment decisions.”
As crypto prices surge again, traders are deciding how to make the most of the momentum.
Those who prefer a more active approach can chase the biggest gainers and hope to extend the move. But those with a longer-term time horizon might prefer to patiently accumulate coins that haven't yet seen a major price increase.
Both methods can be successful, and the optimal strategy will depend on your individual investor style and risk tolerance.
