The crypto market in May 2025 reflects a split dynamic

May 12, 2025 at 07:30 pm

VeChain (VET) has seen a pullback as AI-based models predict further short-term softness, and Arbitrum (ARB) is currently facing resistance

May has seen a split dynamic in the crypto market, with some projects stalling under short-term pressure and others rapidly advancing thanks to strong investor mechanics.

Among the tokens currently facing pullback as AI-based models predict further short-term softness is VeChain (VET), which saw a slight dip. Arbitrum (ARB) is also encountering technical resistance that could decide the next move for the Layer 2 scaling solution.

Meanwhile, BlockDAG's presale has now passed $237 million, setting the final stage for its upcoming launch. The presale's price window will close on May 13, and the daily allocation of 100 million BDAG coins for the upgraded Buyer Battles system is also expiring.

While VET and ARB respond to external market forces, BlockDAG is rolling through internal milestones, offering both structure and upside potential in a market hunting for both.

Rising Interest in BlockDAG As Presale Passes $237 Million

After a strong April run, BlockDAG's presale has seen a slight slowdown in the past week, with AI-based forecasting platforms estimating a dip for VET by mid-May.

This is due to broader market sentiment and short-term trader caution, which has led to a temporary cooling in enthusiasm for VET. Despite the pullback, long-term projections for VeChain remain positive. The project is expanding its use cases in supply chain and logistics, and forecasts suggest a possible rise to $0.86 by the end of 2025 if adoption and partnerships continue to scale.

However, for now, price action reflects a period of stasis and readjustment, which may keep investors focused on momentum plays over patiently waiting out sideways action.

Arbitrum Hits Resistance At $0.35-$0.36 As Technical Indicator Warns Of Weakening Buyers

Arbitrum has bounced nearly 28% off its April lows, but the Layer 2 scaling solution is now facing a key resistance zone around $0.36, technical charts show.

Above this level, ARB could continue its recovery from the recent lows that followed a 50% decline from January's highs. However, if the price pulls back again, then the next support level is at $0.25.

This would complete a technical retracement of the last major uptrend, which began in December 2023. Furthermore, if the price pulls back from here, then it could continue to fall to $0.15.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the 4-hour chart is now approaching overbought levels again, which suggests that the sellers may regain some control of the price.

Nevertheless, if the current resistance is breached with high trading volume, then it could pave the way for a continuation of the uptrend. In this scenario, the next resistance level is at $0.50, followed by $0.85.

Despite the recent gains for ARB, it has yet to translate into a clear uptrend. This is because there is still no sign of a new bullish narrative to propel the next leg up.

After a strong start to 2024, several tokens have stalled out again, and ARB is no exception. If the current ceiling is not broken, then it could be a long wait for the next move.

BlockDAG Presale Passes $237 Million As Final Stage Of Pricing Window Begins

While VET and ARB are both encountering external market friction, BlockDAG is racing through internal milestones. The presale has now passed $237 million, making it one of the largest early-stage crypto fundraises of the year.

The presale's price window will close on May 13, and at present, the entry price is $0.0019. This is still within the optimal range for newcomers, as BlockDAG is targeting a launch price of $0.50, which would translate into a 2520% return for early participants.

However, it's not just pricing that has kept investors engaged. The Buyer Battles system, already a central part of BlockDAG's presale strategy, has now been upgraded. Instead of 25 million BDAG being distributed daily, the total is now 100 million.

This allocation will continue until the final stage of the presale's pricing window. If any daily allocation is unsold, then the remainder will be awarded to the largest buyer of that day.

This model transforms the presale from a simple funding round into a gamified reward system, where participation, timing, and strategy
