Cryptocurrency Market Suffers Modest Decline, Bitcoin Hovers Above $70,000
The cryptocurrency market experienced a moderate downturn on Wednesday, with both Bitcoin and Ethereum registering losses. However, the broader market capitalization remained above the $2.6 trillion mark.
Bitcoin (BTC) retreated by approximately 1%, trading at $70,157 as of this writing. The decline kept BTC above the psychologically significant $70,000 level. Ethereum (ETH) also declined, losing around 1.7% to reach $3,578.
Despite the overall market downtrend, several altcoins posted gains over the past 24 hours. Mantle led the pack, surging by an impressive 39.7% to $1.28. Sui and Fetch.ai followed with notable gains of 15% and 11.2%, respectively.
On the downside, KuCoin Token plummeted by 15.7% to $12.12, emerging as the biggest loser. Conflux, Kaspa, FLOKI, and Bittensor also experienced significant declines.
