Crypto Expert Predicts Bitcoin Bull Run Post-Halving

Apr 18, 2024 at 11:00 pm

Crypto expert Collin Brown predicts a significant rally for Bitcoin (BTC) after the upcoming Halving event. He projects a surge of over 700%, potentially propelling BTC to a new all-time high of $455,000. Previous Halving events have historically led to substantial price increases, with BTC witnessing significant growth in the years following each event.

Crypto Expert Predicts Bitcoin Rally After Halving Event

In a significant development within the cryptocurrency realm, crypto expert Marcel Knobloch, also known as Collin Brown, has made an audacious prediction for Bitcoin (BTC), foreseeing a substantial rally to unprecedented heights following the upcoming BTC Halving event scheduled for this month.

Bitcoin Poised for Post-Halving Surge

According to Brown, the fourth mining reward Halving for Bitcoin will take place within the next 48 hours. This event will witness a reduction in the current block output of 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC per block.

Brown notes that following the previous Halving event, Bitcoin experienced a remarkable growth of over 700%, propelling the crypto asset to its all-time high of $69,000 during the peak of the 2021 bull cycle. Given the impact of the preceding Halving, the crypto expert predicts that the coin could soar to $455,000 if BTC follows a similar pattern.

Brown's statement reads:

"In just forty-eight hours, Bitcoin's fourth mining reward halving will occur. This quadrennial occurrence will slash the per-block emission of BTC to 3.125 BTC from the current 6.25 BTC. After the last halving, Bitcoin prices surged 700%, which would now bring $455,000."

It is pertinent to note that the Halving has been an integral part of Bitcoin's programming since its inception by the enigmatic developer Satoshi Nakamoto approximately 15 years ago. This year's event will transpire upon the creation of block 840,000, potentially boosting BTC's value by reducing its supply.

Historical Precedence of Halving Events

Historically, the three previous Halving events have triggered significant price increases for the digital asset, resulting in substantial gains. Data presented by Brown reveals that following the first Halving event, Bitcoin witnessed a staggering 9,360% increase, reaching a peak of approximately $1,135 from an initial value of $12.

However, it took approximately 371 days for the crypto asset to attain the aforementioned figure post-Halving. Furthermore, the second Halving, which occurred in 2016, propelled Bitcoin's price from $650 to $19,640, representing a surge of over 2,920%.

Meanwhile, the most recent Halving in 2020 led to a 700% rally, taking prices from $8,626 to the previous peak of $69,045. Notably, in the two preceding cycles, BTC took over 500 days to establish new records.

Considering these past trends, Brown's prediction appears to be plausible and within the realm of possibility. Should any of these historical patterns repeat themselves, the crypto expert's forecast could materialize within the upcoming year.

BTC Faces Downturn

Despite his optimistic outlook, Brown acknowledges that Bitcoin is currently exhibiting signs of weakness and may retest its recent all-time high of $73,000. Since reaching its peak in mid-March, BTC has experienced a decline of over 10%.

Today, Bitcoin's price plummeted, dropping to a low of approximately $60,000, marking its lowest level since late February. At the time of writing, BTC is trading at $62,916, down more than 10% over the past week. While trading volume has increased by over 20%, the market capitalization has experienced a slight decrease of 0.20% within the past 24 hours.

The decline in BTC's price is attributed to recent geopolitical tensions and global turmoil. The conflict between Israel and Iran has triggered significant sell-offs among investors, contributing to a broader market downturn.
