The number of crypto ATMs available worldwide has reached an impressive milestone of 38,279, approaching a record high of 39,541 set in December 2022

The number of crypto ATMs available worldwide has reached an impressive milestone of 38,279, approaching a record high of 39,541 set in December 2022, according to data from Coin ATM Radar.
Nearly 6,000 Crypto ATMs Added in 11 Months
In the past 11 months, nearly 6,000 crypto ATMs have sprung up as the crypto market has recovered. These machines are now available in 72 countries and are manufactured by 43 different companies.
During the bear market from late 2022 to July 2023, the number of cryptocurrency ATMs dropped significantly, with fewer than 33,000 machines available for crypto transactions. This year alone, 2,564 cryptocurrency ATMs have been installed, after a loss of 2,861 machines in 2023.
US Leads in Most Crypto ATMs
The United States has the largest number of crypto ATMs, with a whopping 31,916 machines. Canada comes in second with 3,024 machines, followed by Australia with 1,107.
Australia could surpass Europe’s 1,584 ATMs if the current growth trend continues. The country already surpassed 1,000 locations in April. Whether this trend will continue is still unclear, but would not be entirely unexpected.
El Salvador in Bitcoin
El Salvador, which made history in 2021 by becoming the first country in the world to recognize Bitcoin as legal tender, currently has 215 crypto ATMs. President Nayib Bukele is pushing ahead with his plans with a Bitcoin banking project and other proposals.
Bitcoin remains the most supported cryptocurrency on ATMs worldwide, available on almost all machines. Ethereum and Litecoin are also prominently represented.
