Crypto Apps' Adoption to Skyrocket Next Year, Chris Burniske Says
May 31, 2024 at 10:02 pm
The revolution of crypto apps on the top of social media platforms and messengers will finally change the narrative in crypto adoption.

Top crypto apps are set to onboard a massive amount of new users in 2025, thanks to their integration with popular social media platforms and messengers. This will finally drive mainstream crypto adoption to new heights.
However, not everyone in the crypto space should be celebrating this development, Placeholder partner and former head of ARK Invest's crypto unit Chris Burniske warns.
Crypto apps' adoption to skyrocket next year
According to Burniske, crypto apps will hit a new level of user onboarding next year, adding tens to hundreds of millions of new users to the crypto space.
This will happen at an unprecedented rate, leaving the crypto community in awe. After years of waiting for mass adoption, it will suddenly arrive en masse.
"Crypto apps' that hit next year will spin up users at a rate on par with ChatGPT -- users will onboard in the tens to hundreds of millions, en masse, quickly. We'll go from asking, "Where is the adoption?" to running around with our hair on fire with too much adoption.
"Everyone prepare for surprises."
This rapid crypto adoption will be fueled by its unique advantage -- its status as a financialized infrastructure that is directly integrated with the social media phenomenon.
This synergy has already sparked the growth of new Web3 products, NEAR founder Illia Polosukhin noted, commenting on Burniske's forecast.
"Synergy between social networks and crypto apps will fuel growth of new Web3 products. Yes, already happening with @hotdao_ - first million within 10 days, 8 million now. 2m daily actives. Distribution via Telegram.
"Chain Abstraction powers this - no need to think about blockchains, just sign up and use apps."
Crucially, this massive user inflow will amplify scalability issues with L1 and L2 blockchains. At the moment, few modern blockchain environments are ready to handle such a potential user flow properly.
Hence, the seasoned expert is advising everyone to prepare for surprises.
As reported by U.Today previously, Chris Burniske shared his thoughts about the hype around celebrity coins on the Solana (SOL) blockchain.
