Crypto Analyst Predicts a Skyrocketing 337% Surge for Bitcoin Based on Classic Chart Pattern
May 05, 2024 at 05:16 pm
Pseudonymous crypto analyst Cheds predicts a surge in Bitcoin (BTC) value by over 337% to almost $300,000 by mid-2026 based on a classical charting pattern identified as a cup-and-handle formation, challenging widely held assumptions about Bitcoin's market cycles.

Bitcoin Analyst Predicts 337% Surge Based on Classical Chart Pattern
A renowned cryptocurrency strategist has unveiled a bold prediction for Bitcoin (BTC), forecasting a potential surge of over 337% based on a classical chart pattern. Cheds, a pseudonymous analyst with a substantial following of 330,400 on X, has identified a significant chart formation that suggests Bitcoin is poised for a substantial rally.
Cheds' analysis centers around the formation of a cup-and-handle pattern on Bitcoin's weekly chart. This pattern, commonly observed in technical analysis, typically indicates a bullish reversal and a potential continuation of the uptrend. Based on historical precedents, Cheds projects that Bitcoin could soar to nearly $300,000 within the next two years.
"BTC exhibits a clear bull thesis," Cheds asserts. "The measured move for a weekly cup and handle would be roughly $280,000 BTC, potentially occurring sometime in mid-2026."
Notably, Cheds' price target and timeline challenge two prevailing theories regarding Bitcoin's market cycles. The first theory suggests that the Bitcoin bull market is likely to conclude in 2025, based on a presumed four-year cycle. The second theory posits that Bitcoin is experiencing diminishing returns with each successive cycle.
Despite these prevailing views, Cheds believes that Bitcoin may have already bottomed in its most recent correction after reclaiming the $61,500 level. In support of this assertion, he highlights a significant volume cluster on Bitcoin's four-hour chart, indicating strong buying interest at that price point.
"BTC forming a nice volume cluster on the four-hour chart... Flip $61,500 and it gets interesting," Cheds remarks.
Cheds' analysis further indicates that Bitcoin remains bullish despite a recent false breakout to the downside. The chart also reveals a diagonal resistance level at approximately $63,500, which presents a potential obstacle to the bulls' momentum. As of the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $63,438, representing a marginal gain on the day.
Technical analysts widely recognize that chart patterns provide valuable insights into market behavior, particularly when combined with other indicators and fundamental analysis. Cheds' analysis, which considers the cup-and-handle pattern and volume dynamics, provides a compelling argument for Bitcoin's potential to defy bearish expectations and embark on a significant upward trajectory.
