Crypto Analyst Benjamin Cowen Predicts Potential Bottom for Bitcoin

May 10, 2024 at 05:15 pm

Crypto analyst Benjamin Cowen analyzes Bitcoin's price action, comparing it to previous halving events. According to Cowen, the current price action resembles that of the 2016 halving more than the 2020 event. Using the Bitcoin Return on Investment (ROI) After Halving metric, Cowen predicts a potential cycle bottom for BTC within the coming weeks.

Bitcoin Analyst Benjamin Cowen Forecasts Potential Bottom for Crypto Kingpin

Renowned crypto analyst Benjamin Cowen has presented his insights on the potential trajectory of Bitcoin (BTC), the world's leading digital asset, as it hovers around the $63,000 mark.

In his latest video update, Cowen shared his analysis with his vast YouTube following, emphasizing the uncanny resemblance between the current market conditions and those that followed the crypto industry's second halving event in 2013.

"It appears to be taking after 2016 more closely than the other two cycles, which is somewhat logical," Cowen observed. "Many long-time Bitcoin enthusiasts have been drawing comparisons to the 2016 cycle rather than the one in 2020."

Cowen's analysis hinges on the Bitcoin Return on Investment (ROI) After Halving metric, which measures the current price relative to the price at the time of the halving. The most recent halving event, a quadrennial process that reduces the rewards granted to miners by half, occurred on April 19th, 2022.

"If we examine 2016, which may be a valid comparison point," Cowen explained, "we observe that Bitcoin did not surpass an ROI of one until approximately three and a half months after the halving. Whether or not this pattern holds true remains uncertain, but it does lend credence to the theory of a midsummer low."

"An analysis of Bitcoin's ROI since the halving, when compared to the 2016 cycle, offers further support for the possibility of a summer low," Cowen added.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $62,798, having experienced a modest increase over the past 24 hours.

Cowen's analysis has resonated with the crypto community, garnering widespread attention and sparking discussions among investors. His insights provide valuable perspective on the evolving market dynamics, guiding investors as they navigate the ever-shifting crypto landscape.
